This may come across as harsh but I don't feel sorry for him at all.

 

He was trouble from the start dating back to Bigh School where some issues were swept under the rug because of who he was. He still got in Serious trouble while in HS several times his senior year alone.

 

He he was still given a golden opportunity not many kids get and that was a free ride to a top DI program. He still didn't get it. I believe a lot of it was sense of entitlement and I know for a fact that several of his HS teammates weren't fans of his. So he continues to get in trouble multiple times at Auburn and is dismissed from the team prior to his freshman season. He then gets another chance, and I'm calling this his 3rd chance when UL comes calling. He gets another full ride there only to continue to get in trouble until that coaching staff says enough is enough and out the door his behind gets kicked.

 

Again he gets yet his, I don't know, 5th or 6th or 7th chance depending on how many things behind the scenes that no one knows about except the previous coaching staffs and he goes to his 3rd DI college in as many years

and again can't even make it to the start of the season for his 2nd time in 3 teams.

 

Do I hope he gets straightened out? Yes. Do I feel sorry for him? Not at all.

 

I wont on lose any sleep over Zeke spending a long time behind bars.

I witnessed him acting like a total punk on the basketball court in elementary school. My kid would have been yanked off the court (by me) if he had acted that way. Zeke has never been held accountable for his actions. He got in trouble many times in high school and it was covered up, overlooked, whatever. This may be the time his parents can't come to his rescue.

Im sorry but knowing how Zeke was raised, his parents need as

much blame also. Zeke was allowed to do whatever he wanted with no reprocussion. He had the entitlement persona down pat.

Coming out of high school Zeke was rated the third best QB in the nation behind Gunner Kiel and Jameis Winston and was looked at by some as the best high school product to come out of NKY since Shaun Alexander. Unbelievable how his life has turned for the worst.

 

Let's hope that his brother learns from Zeke's mistakes and doesn't follow down a similar path.

I too hope he finds the help he needs, as it is obvious his life is headed down a dangerous path. But at this point, how in the world do you feel bad for him? The excuse of "oh, he's 18 years old and made a dumb mistake" went out the door awhile ago. He was given every opportunity to not only succeed as a young adult, but to steady the ship and learn from those "mistakes" he made. Obviously, he had no interest in changing his life then and apparently still doesn't to this day. I agree with others when suggesting that legit jail time may be the only course of action that could influence Zeke's decision making moving forward. But as they say, "you can't fix stupid...".

I kind of wish BGP would get the same number of passionate responses when someone does something good. Let's put a scarlett letter on him. What about all the middle and upper class young people who are addicted to heroin? Is Pike any worse than they? I don't know the young man and never would have heard of him had it not been for BGP but I'm not going to write him off. I wish him the best and hope he turns into a happy and productive citizen.

He wouldn't listen to his teachers, he wouldn't listen to his coaches, he wouldn't listen to his family, he obviously wouldn't listen to police. It's DAMN SAD what has become of this kid. HE HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HIMSELF. I guess the only thing left is incarceration so he doesn't kill someone or himself but I doubt he'll listen even there. Just goes to show you size, pedigree and talent doesn't always mean you'll get far. You have to WANT it in my opinion. It's obvious all this young man wants is to be high. He's let a lot of folks down, needs to get right with his Maker and admit he needs his Maker's help.

 

Couldn't agree more with this post. This train has derailed too many times. I'm going to pray that this young man quits hurting himself and those around him....and that God forbid he hurts others down the road with his track record of poor judgement and behavior.

 

This has gotten beyond the point of ridiculous as mentioned earlier in this thread. I'm not so sure a judge and jail time will scare this kid straight or at least more accountable for his actions and the effects they have on the people around him.

I would say, given his history, there is no reason to believe jail will fix him.

Under normal circumstances numbers 2 and 3 are the big concerns, 1 is right at the legal limit. But as others have said, this person is not learning any lessons at all.
