Trump Has A Long Way To Go

I have to admit, I'm fascinated with what's going on. Trump is defying all conventional wisdom on campaigning. I don't know how many "explanations" I've read from journalists, commentators, social scientists, etc. about how Trump has managed to maintain his lead. Some make sense, others don't, but no one seems to agree on everything and it all begs the question of where these analyses were months ago.

There's still a long way to go before any voting takes place, so there's plenty of time for Trump to derail, Bush to win, and everyone to say "see? nothing unusual." But the longer this goes on the more I wonder. I'm resisting the urge to make any broad conclusions about it now.

Perfectly put.

My take has always been that Trump would implode--and perhaps even on purpose. But he has undoubtedly capitalized on an angry sect of the people. He plays to that very well with his own angry, politically incorrect rants.

I still think he fades, and again, I think he may fade on purpose. But as you said, the longer this goes on the more I wonder.

I'm telling you, our country deserves Donald Trump as the next POTUS.

Pretty much. These campaigns and politics as a whole have become such petty, superficial, rah-rah cheer for our side, reality show gawking nonsense that there's something almost obvious about a self-branded personality like Trump winning it.

It is one of the more fascinating things I have ever seen. When he declared EVERY person thought his bump to the top would be short lived. As in a week or so. We are going on 2+ months. Each gaffe, blunder, or misstep gives him a bump in the polls. It is like watching Bulworth on steroids.

I was certainly one of those people making that prediction. I more or less said once he faced more serious scrutiny or began insulting people who were popular with Republicans/conservatives that he'd plummet and drop out. And just the opposite has happened. He's insulting Megyn Kelly and Fox News at every turn and people are eating it up. I never thought I'd see that.

Trump is going to eventually lose his lead during the campaign and drop out to become a 3rd party nominee like Perot and cost the Republicans the White House. It may have even been the plan from the beginning.

While probably not likely, certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Who knows what that conversation between Bill and the Donald was all about? Would you put it past the Clintons?I wouldn't. Let's face it, Donald is much more Democrat than Republican. More liberal than conservative... friendly with Bill and Hill. I'd say it wasn't the plan all along to run third party but I wouldn't bet my life savings.

Saw on CNN this morning where Trump's national numbers in the polls is up to 28% with Republican voters, far in front of his closest competition, Ben Carson. But the same poll also asked which Republican candidate would you most want to see not win, and Trump was #1 in that one too, at 23%. Meaning the Republican Party is badly divided----not good for their chances against any democrat candidate in the election for the White House.

Trump was actually pretty patient with Ramos. Did Ramos ever get around to actually asking a question?

He asked a couple. I just don't think they got answered.

He asked for specifics and didn't get any.

That second number is why we can't get a great read on Trump until other candidates drop out and their votes have to go somewhere.

Which is pretty telling with respect to where this country's R's are. Dump on women and Hispanics and watch your poll numbers rise.

What a crappy, condescending, out of context , comment. A tit for tat with Megyn and making a Spanish report wait his turn to ask a question in a presser . I guess I'll go disrespect my wife , and not tip the waiter working at the local Mexican food joint . Thats just what we do . :sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic: then just for papa ....:lol::lol:
