I too am entertained by the fact that Trump is both candid and outspoken (and humorous at times), but to go on an anti-Mexican rant when Hispanics now total 55 million in this country is akin to general-election suicide. And don't think these rants won't have a negative effect on whomever the GOP candidate will be 16 months down the road.

People may laugh now, but if he becomes a legitimate candidate and then wins. The humor would go out the window. He has $$ and an extremely high profile that will buy and earn him votes, maybe even the Presidency. If Arnold can win in Cali and Ventura in Minnesota, it is not out of the realm of possibility he could win.

As I've said in another thread, I see no way he can win. He's just such a jerk that I think anybody on the fence would not vote for him.

I don't know if he could win but it sure is refreshing to listen to someone running who actually says what he means no matter who is listening and who does not need to convene a focus group to come up with answers to difficult questions. I find him arrogant and pompous but totally refreshing.

Sadly fringe candidates from the left and the right are getting major looks . Sanders and Trump are both bad candidates . Both are getting far more attraction than they deserve . At least Trump is a capitalist .

Very concerning. I actually want to see it happen but that is the dark side of me who cannot wait to let people know that it is no longer the toxic lefties fault their country is in the shape it is in.

While I agree he is entertaining I don't look at it that way, we are way too politically correct in America and Trump is going to tell us all about it.

 

And being politically correct is bad because why? We have rules in place on BGP that keep us politically correct don't we? Being politically correct can't be all that bad.

That seems to be the real conundrum and if America is for sale like some are saying would we really want Trump as the POTUS? I'm thinking no. At the same time, every single candidate will likely sell us down the river or have to sell us down the river at some point. We're in a bad spot financially and what I want to see is someone fix it and not blame their predecessor for our problems. Bush has done that. Obama has done that. Our next POTUS will do that. I want vote for the person who has the balls to step up and say that they know we are screwed but I'm going to die trying to fix it.

 

Anything they can fix socially along the way helps also. Like reducing all those stupid sentences for non-violent drug offenders. The War on Drugs was lost a long time ago.

Not entirely. What I am speaking on is the legalization of marijuana and looking into the discrepancy of sentencing between cocaine powder and crack cocaine. Legalizing drugs and legalizing marijuana is two different things to me. Cocaine powder and crack cocaine should have the same sentences. You shouldn't get more jail time for possessing crack cocaine. It is Rand Paul's liberal leanings saying this though.
