Trump has failed many times I'm sure. But at least he or someone like him (not career politician) might have fresh ideas, that's something we need.

 

Things are hard to get done in Washington I get that. But more things like Obamacare (love or hate)

have to be accomplished while a president is in office.

 

Bombing Muslim extremists is easy, but things like fixing our national debt , reducing the welfare recipients, illegal immigration are also very important the list goes on an on.

I'm with you but regardless of who the president is nothing will happen until their are term limits. After so many years the congressman are corrupted by the system. I do believe that the vast majority of these guys have great intentions when they run for election and after 10 years they are part of the problem.

 

But when a neurosurgeon and a guy who has built a business from the ground up are considered clowns what do you expect?

This is a great post and why Trump is at least interesting to watch. The Presidential run may be more about massaging his ego, but at least his presence and demeanor are refreshing in the sense he does not come off as a career politician, rather an overzealous Type A businessman. Again, Trump may not be the guy, but why not a successful business minded type to run this country? It makes a lot more sense from a business perspective - which the federal government is the nation's largest business - to insert someone like this than a political schmoozer that ascended by wealth, charisma, or political savvy. Our system is uniquely set up so that the President is the CEO and figurehead. The latter will be Trump's unraveling. People (rightfully) can't envision him being the US diplomat and ceremonial face of the nation.

 

I suspect he will slip upon his own tongue or the "New Trump" smell will soon wear and he will fade into Bolivian.

To a lot of people Trump has become joe the plumber, bob the brick layer, fred the farmer ect ect. I haven't watched many GOP debates in recent years but im getting my popcorn ready for this one.

Wow, I couldn't agree more with this post. So why haven't we ever elected a successful business minded person? In this day and age the media simply will not allow it to happen. The good thing is, it will be difficult to twist Trump's word. He is pretty straight forward and in your face. He doesn't leave much for interpretation nor does he care what you think.

Rather, people with strong business sense are good at putting people in the right place, pushing correct buttons, knowing when to crack the whip, etc. It is not even about being in business, it is about organizational efficiency. Some are masters of leading an organizations and understanding of it's culture and what makes it tick. What makes a career politician more qualified?

This election is Hillary's to lose. We've known this for 24 months. If you are going down in flames, at least make it entertaining for us.

The president of the United States is a job no one is truly prepared for, but I feel more comfortable with someone who has spent their career working with others to run a government for the people.

The problem right now is the huge divide we have Congress. We need a kindergarten teacher more than a businessman.
