Explaining whose mindset? I agree with him on immigration and would like to see our borders more secure. I'm interested in seeing his plan to stop illegal immigration since no one has been able to do it yet. I don't agree that they are all killers and rapists but I'd like to see his plan and follow through on immigration. You lost me on your post, capt.

I am not sure how much 'partnership' there is with the Mexican government. Like every other country in the world if you 'sneak' in and get caught or just make a wrong turn at the border you end up in jail. If their partnership in this open border is to take a few hundred thousand of our social security dependent retirees who like the beach and Coronas and put them up and pay for their healthcare - then we are talking a partnership! I do hear that the ex-pats get great healthcare for next to nothing in parts of central America like Belize.

 

On his fix he clearly was touting his wall-building ability and his ability to 'make Mexico pay for it'. I would think a buffer zone of a couple of miles or more into Mexico may be in order. People say walls or physical barriers do not work - but it did work for San Diego. As for who would really pay for any of it I think he was over the top.

 

One way to address the problem is to get tough, real tough on the illegals who commit crimes and especially serious crimes. Lets let the long term drug offenders out and start jailing serious crime illegals - and make them serve a long sentence before deportation. The revolving door incidents involving illegals and crime are under reported and getting worse. That seems a logical first step. Currently the administration is doing a collect and release after an illegal is arrested by local authorities. I think this lack of enforcement against illegals for serious crimes will cause a stronger backlash.

I almost bought Corona for tonight - but it is the United States holiday. We will save the Corona for Cisco-de-Mayo. So went totally local with West Sixth. The tequila may still not be safe tonight though.

We are all capable of telling the truth and keeping it real without being jerks about it. If he is going to tell his version of the truth and comes off as a jerk doing so then maybe he should work on his delivery a little bit. It's not like he has never been in front of a camera before. It's not like he doesn't know that every statement he makes about anything will be broadcast for the whole country to see and hear. He knew what he was doing and so far it is working in his favor. I hope he wins though. I want to see what he can do. He talks a big game. I want to see if he can back it up.

I had to be at work at 4am today. Overtime. Pulling 12 hours today. 4am-4pm. I was on midnight shift last week. Nothing sucks more than making a post and then having to wait 8-12 hours for a reply. :lol2: I've given up on the argument by then.

Since Mexico did not issue international warrent for Holder for running guns into their country it would seem there is some sort of 'understanding'.

 

And of course the Mexicans would not allow their country to be used a conduit of illegals from further south if the there was a chance these people would get 'stuck' in Mexico.

 

They dynamics with Mexico are hard to grasp. Its 6 families that run the country. And I have no idea how or if the families have control or connections to the brutal drug cartels.
