Will Lebron have to score 45 a night for the Cavs to have a chance?

Featured Replies

Lebron played great last night (until OT), and carried the team most of the game. They obviously lost the game, but is he going to have to have that kinda of game every night this series for Cleveland to have a chance? If Irving is done, how does this affect Lebron's workload?

I picked Golden State to win for this very reason. LeBron is good enough to guide Cleveland through the East with the team on his back. Golden State is too good for that, though.

He doesn't need 45...he just needs to take a good shot when the game is on the line in regulation.

It is not about LeBron scoring, it is about setting up the rest of his teammates. I think he needs to be in the 10+ assist range for the Cavs to have a chance.

Lebron could have had 51 last night and the Cavs would have still lost by 1...I'm great at math...I know.

Looking over the scoring last night, Shumpert, Smith, Curry, Thompson and Green all scored right around their average. Lebron was +20 his average.

I literally feel like he's going to have to average a high Triple Double if Irving is out (sure doesn't look good). He's going to have to play out of the high post more. When Cleveland went Iso in the 2nd half, there was NO MOVEMENT off of the ball. If LeBron didn't make the shot, then they struggled. When he was more active on offense the whole team moved it well. The big Russian could be a match-up issue for Bogut with his athleticism off of the ball. But really...Golden State played about as bad for a quarter and a half as they could and the Cavs couldn't have played better, yet they couldn't steal it.

If Kyrie is out and JR Smith/ Iman Shumpert play like last night, LBJ needs to score 40+ for them to keep it close. He's the best active player on the planet IMO, but you'll never win 1 on 5.

Watch LBJ to play more of a point guard role with Irving out. This could get JR and Shumpert going. They have more chance to win with LBJ scoring in the low 30's and having 10+ assists than they do with him going for 40+.

Nobody ever doubted Jordan!

The thing I don't like about LeBron's game is that he continues to shoot 3-pointers even though he's only making 18% of them in the playoffs.

He made a crucial one to keep them in the game. Had he not taken it, they probably lose a lot sooner.

Warriors showed what there plan was in game 1...play LeBron straight up and keep the others from beating them. LeBron still almost got the win...but with Irving gone I think they will focus even harder on cutting down passing lanes and just trying to stay in front of LeBron. If he get's 45-10-6 with the 6 being assist I think the Warriors will be very happy.

As some have said if LeBron can get to 10+ assist then I think they have a chance...if Mozgov could finish with the ball at the basket a little more they could have a chance also.
