Have you made any advanced funeral request?

Featured Replies

Yes.

I have requested that @theguru, @spindoc, @mcpapa, @Ram, @Randy Parker and @Watusi be my pallbearers.

This fat boy will be getting the last laugh.:D:D

Also, if I had enough money, I want someone to find quite a few C and D list celebs, and pay them to come to the service. They don't have to say anything or do anything, but I want people to come away from the service wondering why they were there, how I knew them, or if I just knew someone who looked like them.

I also have quite a few letters and some notebooks, for certain people. I want them to know what they mean (or I guess meant) to me, in case I've never fully let them know.

My list just got longer.

I'm not too particular, except as a music snob, I'm obviously going to be driving that boat. The only things I know for sure are that I want "

" from Gabriel Faure's Requiem Mass played as a meditation song during my funeral service (one of the absolutely most beautiful musical pieces I know to exist) and that I'd like this song played as the recessional when my casket is being taken out of church:

Oh, I also request that my grave be marked with a bench rather than traditional headstone. I want to folks to have a spot where they can sit and visit for a few minutes if they ever stop by my gravesite.

I want to be buried with a "Dusty Sucks" tshirt.

Let it go, man. That's the kind of stuff that haunts you to eternity.

I want to be cremated and my ashes spread around the Fortress of Solitude at the Compound.

I told my family that if they just discarded my comic book collection (almost 13,000) book I would haunt them.

It's my burial, I'll do as I please(d). Might even wear a Reds hat signed by Dante' Bichette with (overrated) written with a sharpie underneath.

My mom had her husband cremated and said when she goes to cremate her and spread their ashes together at Lake Cumberland. I told her that it would have to be lower end of the lake near the dam as my drinking water is pulled from the other end of the lake.

TRUE STORY: We were at the funeral home making arrangements and She said they always enjoyed their time at the lake together and that I was to spread their ashes at the lake. I said, "you always liked fishing too, can I just roll your ashes up in some up into dough balls and fish with your remains? Or maybe put the ashes in a mold and make lures out of them..." Funeral Director didn't know what to say...I don't know if he thought I was serious or not. It lightened the mood for my mom and wife and helped get through the planning of my mom's husbands funeral.

PS Mom still thinks I was just kidding :)

You can have your ashes put into shotgun shells or rifle or pistol cartridges. Then your friends and family can hunt with those shells or use them in a 21 gun salute.

No lie... Holy Smoke

One scam involved with cremation if you also have an open funeral...the casket "Rental". The one we went to the rental fee for a casket for a few hours use was enough to buy the cheapest casket for sale at the funeral home.

No way rental of a casket should cost that much.

I want to be cremated and I don't care what they do with the ashes. I don't want a big to-do.

I've detailed all my finances and update it annually.

I have left any hypothetical estate to my son and daughter equally.

I want it all to be simple.
