Edit.

I wouldn't care if the Bengals broke every rule in the book and then the whole franchise was suspending the following year, if they won the Super Bowl.

Eh, the Giants have won 4 in my lifetime. I'm glad they won them without this much controversy is all I'm saying.

I wonder if the Pats cheated when the Giants took them down :lol2:

Fwiw, I wanted the Pats to beat the Seahawks and I don't care about deflategate.

One interesting comment I heard today that caused me to think - Brady's suspension is the same as someone caught taking PED's.
Too similar. I believe that was a factor in the strong penalty / penalties. That and the Fact that the Pats along with Belichek and the owner are known cheaters and are so arrogant in their denials. Is JMO but it's not a good idea to try to show up the League / Supervision ...they are the ones that can hurt you. I have never witnessed such arrogance that the Pats, B. Belicheat, T. Shady and their owner. Good football team - YES , Invented the game of football - NO.

All of their "elitist" attitudes came back to bite tem this time and they have only themselves to blame.

Having said all that I do think that their appeal will get the suspension reduced to a couple of games. I don't think it should, just is what I look for.

There's a phrase often used in NCAA investigations that comes to mind.

Lack of institutional control.

Well, the Bengals haven't won a playoff games since I was five, which I don't remember any of. So they can break every rule in the book if it means I get to see them win a Super Bowl haha! But I understand where you're coming from.

This is just a joke right? I've seen this on Facebook. This isn't a serious sentiment is it?

I did laugh when I saw the picture. Serious sentiment? Probably not. I'm not a Brady hater, but I do get annoyed with the amount of cheating in sports.

My beef with the Pete Rose/Tom Brady comparison is that it is two different sports. There was also hardcore proof that Pete Rose bet on baseball games that he managed. The NFL has proven to be horribly inconsistent with their punishments and we are still waiting for the smoking gun in the Brady situation.

A good question I heard this morning. The Patriots and Brady are dug in, practically admitting no wrongdoing. If that is the case, why did the Patriots indefinitely suspend the two employees that doctored the footballs? Are they going in with the position that these two guys acted alone and tossing them under the bus for the entire scandal?

It was my understanding that the NFL suspended them, not the Patriots.

Now it may have been forced or interrelated, but they were suspended by the Patriots. Maybe the NFL doesn't have the authority to suspend these employees?

As part of its statement, the league said it was advised by Kraft, who along with Coach Bill Belichick was absolved of wrongdoing, that Jastremski and McNally had been suspended without pay indefinitely. According to the league, neither individual may be reinstated without the approval of Vincent.

If they can't come back without the leagues ok then it seems the league is behind them being suspended.

In today's press releases the Patriots expressed their absolute outrage at the attacks and insinuations they would bend the rules.

In their second release, they announced the signing of a free agent quarterback, Dom Grady, pictured in this link, who they expect to start the first four games of the year:
