Is a football field that the soccer team is ALLOWED to use or is it a field that both teams get to use? I don't see how you can not put down the required soccer lines.

Heck you could always use house paint like Highlands old field. Neve heard a good thing about that turf.

I'm the last guy to say he is an expert on anything construction related so.....

 

Am I correct the sub-base is below the turf? I ask because I know that most if not all turfs use cut up tire ON the turf between the "blades." Every turf I've seen has tire fly up in the air during a game.

When Highlands original field was put in the Turf was laid and a Combo of Bunker/Play Sand and Recycled Nike Gym shoes was applied as the "Infill".....the Subgrade at Highlands and all other Applications that I have seen has a Special Crushed Limestone that is roughly 10" thick for the Base. Everything you see flying during a Game is "Infill" that has been groomed in after Installation. Apparently it is done differently in other places.

 

The Subgrade has a pretty impressive Drainage system that Flows the Water away. That's why I couldn't see Newport just sanitizing their field. The fine River Loom would have settled in the drainage lines and made it almost impossible to drain. Just my 2 cents! Newports field will flood again!

Yes Sherwin Williams makes a Turf Paint. We have painted certain Lines at Highlands the Last 10-12 years. No one really noticed but every Hash-Mark was painted at Highlands. When the Installation took place they ran out of time and just threw the Hashes away.

I would imagine not. Again.

100 yards of the field is complete. Endzones are the next to be put in. Soccer lines will not be added except for the out of bounds lines. This is an NFL funded project therefore will be a true Football field. No extra junk in the middle. The new logo will be added once sidelines are put down. I'm told 1 week left.

While we are being very particular about word usage and the correct meaning....I'm pretty sure you are referring to "river loam."

Soccer lines cut in after field is laid? At least that's how I've seen it at other installs.
