March 4, 201511 yr I am calling out our right wing friends on BGP and seeing if they have the ability to make any kind of a positive comment about a Democrat. Can you do it? Is there one Democrat you can say good things about? I will start another thread for the Dems and ask them to do the same.
March 4, 201511 yr Bill Clinton is one of the most skilled politicians of our time and I've always admired what he became, considering his early years. A self-made man, I guess you could say.
March 4, 201511 yr I probably don't qualify fully as a right-winger because I would tend to be more liberal on environmental and many social issues. I say good to veto of the Keystone pipeline. Oil execs. are a bunch of greedy barons and could care less about anything but their pocketbook. And, I make much of my living manufacturing parts that go into oilfield maintenance, but I believe a) we should practice conservation; b) continue development of cleaner energy; and c) there is plenty of oil domestically for our supply...the greedy guys are just refining it and selling it out of country and twisting the truth.
March 4, 201511 yr Author I'm a registered Independent. Can I post in both threads? :lol2: Sure ... I plan on posting in both. I am not registered independent but my voting breakdown in general elections is about 60% Dem and 40% Republican.
March 4, 201511 yr While I have no way of knowing how accurate this is, I genuinely feel most Democrats, specifically guys like Biden, Obama, and Bill Clinton, would be an absolute blast to hang out with. They seem like "cool" guys. I don't feel the same way about most Republicans (outside of GWB).
March 4, 201511 yr I think most democrats are good people wanting a better tomorrow for their kids and mine. The problem comes from in two parts 1) Agreements on how to do that and 2) like the GOP not letting the fringe define them.
March 4, 201511 yr I align more closely with social interests than business interests, and this is where I feel Democrats do a better job of Politics.
March 4, 201511 yr Rather than saying something good about a particular Democrat, I'll say that there are some views traditionally tied to Democrats that more closely align with my views as a practicing Catholic, naming those concerning capital punishment and social issues like the treatment of the poor.

March 4, 201511 yr I think it would be fun to hang out with Presidents Obama and Clinton and I don't think there are many people better than President Carter.
