I do not blame Pitino for anything that happened negative that happened at UK after he left (which is very little). Pitino was great for UK! I will forever love him as a coach for what he did.

BTW, where were Noah, Horford, Green, and Brewer ranked coming out of high school? Actually Horford and Brewer ranked pretty high. Scouts had Brewer as the 19th best player, Horford was the 56th, and Noah came in at 68. Green was the only one I didn't see in the top 100. Rivals had Brewer at 7 as a SF and 31st overall, Horfor as the #7 PF and #36 overall, Noah as 19th PF and 75th overall, and Green as the 19th PG and 105th overall.
April 8, 200620 yr Because I understand that UK will never Dominate like UK use to........ Every other college is getting better by the year. And everyone is catching UK now. Not all kids wanna come to UK. Some wanna stay Home and Build a winning program for a school close to home. Duke, UCONN, and North Carolina don't care to dominate every year. They don't care at all to bring in top-25 recruits, coach them properly, and win close to 30 games a season. I wouldn't care a bit if UK joined the elite programs once again.

April 8, 200620 yr Duke, UCONN, and North Carolina don't care to dominate every year. They don't care at all to bring in top-25 recruits, coach them properly, and win close to 30 games a season. I wouldn't care a bit if UK joined the elite programs once again. To me success is National Championships. And in the last 10 years none of these schools has more championships than UK. There is not alot of domination over UK IMO.

Oh GT, you think you know it, and sometimes it makes me sick reading what you say, because like one poster said, you try so hard to make someone look bad, even if you dig stuff up from 15 years ago. It's gets old, but you paid your money so you have that right, It's just getting old.

There is no way of saying they won't be great or that they will be great next year. I would think that based on what Ive heard and the reports I have seen, Jasper and Meeks will be ready to play and play pretty well more so than Stevenson or Porter will be.
April 8, 200620 yr What? Those players in 99-00 were without a star. The thing about Pitino was he recuirted alot of stars that were NBA calibar but he also worked with players alot. Look at what he did with Nazr. His freshman year he was horrible and out of shape. His sophomore year he was much improved except for the free throws. I'm sure if Pitino has been around to work with the left overs they would of been much better. And also I'm sure there would of been an All American type player on his team. So dont go blaming that season on Pitino. Allen Edwards, Nazr, and Sheppard were gone. Thats 3 of the top 5 scorers from the chamionship team. The season I am talking about is 2 years later than the Nat. Championship. Also gone were Evans, Turner, Padgett, and the 3 or four who transferred who were recruited by Ricky P. There were only nine scholarship players with freshman and sophomore classes that included Prince, Bogans, and Stone. What I am saying about this is Pitino had his eye on the NBA for about the last two years he was there and didn't do much recruiting in the off season.

The reason I believe he said it was because we have alot of people on here that dont want to give Tubby any credit for that title and just say it was with Pitino's players. So if they believe that then cant being using that season when we had 10 losses to blame all on Tubby, because with their reasoning then it much be partly Pitino's fault then! Like I don't believe that because I believe 98 Championship belongs to Tubby and that year with 10 losses belongs to Tubby because he was the one coaching those teams! But that is the reason he brought that up I believe since there is so many people that dont give Tubby credit for the 98 season but would blame it all on Tubby for that 10 loss season, and THEY cant have it both ways, because if they believe it was Pitino's championship then it was Pitino's 10 loss season too!
April 8, 200620 yr No way UK is better how could they be? Back court is gone, leadership what there was of it is gone. Good recruiting class. Not great, but not bad like past few years. Young kids will show flashes but they are only frosh. I tell ya the SEC as a whole will be better, Florida, UT, Bama, MSU and others. 10 + loss season is a yes for sure and I will go out on a limb but I could see us struggling to be .500 in SEC if Meeks/Jasp don't make a strong impact. Only plus side right now is Morris. Maybe a monster year? Maybe Stevenson fills the gap so he isn't doubled and has help down low. Joe is Joe he shows up then disappears, Perry will give you decent games then some good ones. That's about all she wrote.
