Silver Groves seating is certainly more convenient... Majority of St Pats seats are behind the one endline.

I always enjoyed the Briar Patch when I was working over in that area. Also loved Monticello's gym.

 

I wonder if Wayne Co uses Monticello's for anything now.

I was told that when Somerset's was built back in the day (not sure what year) it was either the largest or one of the largest in the state. Seats maybe 2000...maybe counting baseline expansion a few years ago. Somerset does have one of the more unique gyms in the state.

That school is now Monticello Elementary School so the gym is still used for P.E. classes. I'm sure it is used for little league/elementary basketball as well. Not sure if they use it for freshmen games or anything else. It was a neat place.

4100 seems low for The Greenhouse in Greenup County.

Lee County has a stage at one end of their gym. They have a nice facility, which opened in 1965.

Powell County has a gym that has a stage on one end. Their gym opened in 1978 and seats 3,500. They add seating to the stage area when they host the region, which they will this year.

No doubt. The late 1950s were probably their best years, winning the 12th Region in 1956, 1958, 1959, and 1960. The 1960 team was state runners-up and they finished fourth in the state in 1958. They won their last regional in 1987, which was also the last year they won a district title. They had only played in one regional tournament (2005) since 1999. Times had gotten tough right before they closed.

They did awfully well back in the day in the 12th Region. From 1956-74 there were 7 championships and 1 runner-up...mostly with coach Joe Harper.

What's their total regional championships number? I'm thinking around 15. Is that in the neighborhood?
