I am with you here. Would like to know what the circumstances were? There was reference in another thread that there were some locker room issues prior to the Beechwood game. Is it possible that he had lost this team after the first game debacle against Highlands?

In most cases both of their answers mean the same thing.

So was he let go or did he choose not to come back? Was he the reason that there was some grumblings about kids not coming back next year? Please tell me not beating Highlands was the reason if he was in fact let go.

Clyde is pretty connected on the CCH front.

 

I trust my source, but I wont sit here and act like I spoke to Dave himself or the AD.

 

Parents are under the impression he was let go or asked to resign...which is basically the same thing.

One thought I've had since I initially heard about this...

 

-Coach Wirth interviewed for the Boone County head coaching position before the ’13 season/school year.

-Coach Wirth interviewed for the Ryle head coaching position before the ’14 season/school year.

-Word was going around in the last couple of weeks before Roger Bacon announced Mike Blaut as their new head coach that Dave was a short-lister.

 

Folks should certainly be allowed to see what else is out there on the job market in order to best look out for them and theirs, but three straight years of actually interviewing for other coaching positions around the tri-state…that sounds like a guy who isn’t exactly happy where he is.

You would be wrong. Highlands fans have nothing but respect for the CCH program and they are never underestimated.

I was a little surprised that it did not happen in December.

Rowe meet with him unless once after the first Highland game and put it mildly Rowe was not happy.

And yes Rowe was hearing from both parents and players.

Also heard over the holidays that it was starting to affect the capital campaign.

I for one am sad to see him go, I like Dave.

But some of the things that happen in the lock room this year, I can understand why there was a mini revolt this year and Rowe was staring to hear from parents.

One of the rumors is that he was told not to apply for any other jobs, but went ahead and applied to Roger Bacon.

Let's be honest if this team was loaded coming back, or had a bunch of young studs coming up through the system, Wirth won't have resigned. I think he realized he wasn't going to beat Highlands anytime soon. :isurrender:
