Highlands - Holy Cross Game Scheduled for 1/9 Cancelled

Featured Replies

Is Holy Cross in danger of exceeding its season game limit with a deep run in the All-A tourney? Is that what this is about?

From the KHSAA bylaws:

4. No member school shall play more than twenty-three (23) basketball games during the regular season. A maximum of two (2) tournaments may be included in any manner other than counting each game played against the limit of twenty-three (23) games. Any two tournaments played during the regular season may be counted as one game per tournament, against the limit of twenty three (23) provided that neither tournament necessitates the team playing more than four (4) games. Any game played over the limit of four in any one tournament shall be counted against the limit of twenty-three (23) games.

Makes no difference for this game, because it it a Division II NKAC game. Will have to be played at some point in time this season or Holy Cross runs the risk of a fine I believe. Someone like Mustang might be able to confirm or deny this.

Thanks. What got me thinking along this line was last year's NewCath-CovCath game that was called at halftime and never finished.

Is that why I see references to the "XX Region All-A"? So that the region and state are technically two separate tournaments...

Why two state tourney's? Maybe RCC can explain?

LA...look what they do to me!!!

What happens between two coaches stays between two coaches. No one can cancel a game without forfeit unless the other agrees. Let the coaches work it out. Fear is not a factor as my friend on TV says.

Again. Wish I could say more.

A possibility.

If so, why not wait to see how many All-A games are played first?

If this indeed is what's taking place, then the ADs at the two schools should just say so instead of tap-dancing. When a game between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the most recent 9th Region coaches poll gets cancelled for secretive reasons, that's no good for the schools or the region or the sport.

Not two schools. You'll just have to trust me.

And this has NOTHING to do with the All A.

Nothing like bashing an entire team/school without knowing all the facts.

Here's one fact - If this cancellation was due to a water main break, power outage, blizzard, entire school shut-down due to illness, or any number of legit reasons, there would be a tweet/email/internet/facebook/press release from the school explaining the circumstances.

The silence is speaking volumes.

My main concern is that people direct their speculation towards the administration and refrain from speaking about the girls or their play. To them it is a real sport even if some think girls can't play.
