January 6, 201511 yr I bet playing baseball has a lot to do with this. Maybe he wants to focus on one last baseball season and will focus on the NFL next off season. Famous Jameis comes back to The Ville for baseball in May.
January 6, 201511 yr Not to mention FSU will have NINE quarterbacks on the roster next year if he returns. They are bringing three Top 10 QBs in the 2015 class. I don't think that makes any difference in Jameis's decision. He'll be the starter no matter if he returns.

January 6, 201511 yr Maybe he wants to come back because he enjoys CFB. Maybe he knows he needs to improve on sometings? I personally think it is great when kids stay 4 years and play. I also understand why they leave early. I too like when kids stay for 4 years but it just seems like the risk of a career ending injury would put enough fear in him to leave. I know Peyton stayed but based on his father retiring from a solid career in the NFL and I believe he had a decent broadcasting career, I am guessing the Manning family probably was better off than 99% of other athletes over time who could have left early. I realize they probably had no where near the weath Peyton does now but I think he knew he would be pretty well off even if he never was able to play in the NFL.
January 7, 201511 yr Of all this, the one thing that has me puzzled is why Shaun King of all people is an expert on these matters?
January 7, 201511 yr I've told plenty of people and nobody wants to listen. The kid LIVES baseball. He's got one of the best career ERA's in FSU history and is almost unhittable. It won't surprise me at all when he returns. There is more money in baseball and it takes a lot less physical toll on the body. IF baseball is what he wants to do then this is understandable.

That's what I've heard, as well. He likes baseball more than football. If he can stay away from the seafood counter at Publix, this spring, he could very well go top 10 in the MLB draft. Basically the world is his oyster.
January 7, 201511 yr He has always stated he likes baseball just a little bit better than he does football, but that he knows football will pay his bills. Maybe he just isn't ready to give up baseball yet and wants to be a "kid" a little bit longer? And I don't mean immature, I mean taking on the responsibility of being a franchise QB.
January 7, 201511 yr I kinda want him to flame out as an NFL QB then pick up a baseball and make the MLB. I think that would be kind of awesome. It's nice to have multiple pro futures.
