January 7, 201511 yr He no doubt has the talent and imo on ability is NFL ready. Other factors....character will hold him back on how high he may go. NFL Teams do a lot of screening, background checking and with the long overdue crackdown on domestic abuse, other charges involving women imo he has "a lot of splanin'" to do. Winston's arrogance, having Fisher and FSU cover him, protecting him will not be there.
January 8, 201511 yr In all fairness the only system QBs from the Chip Kelly tree are Dennis Dixon and Darron Thomas. Chip Kelly's offense works in the NFL so I don't see why Mariota couldn't have success. He'll have to adjust to being under center some and reading coverage in true drop back situations but he's got the best skill set of any spread QB that has come out, as far as being a runner and passer. Newton and RGIII were better runners but MM puts them to shame in the passing game. I don't think he's a slam dunk like Luck was but he's safer than many other QBs drafted in the first round over the last few years. JMO. Not necessarily. Too early to tell. Most analysts I've heard, say that D-coordinators have caught up to it and figured it out. We'll see. The wildcat had brief success in the NFL a few years back too.

January 9, 201511 yr I hope he is a stud in the NFL. I am sure that he has already had agents etc. talking to him and hopefully his family about keeping his nose out of trouble and actually working his butt off to be the best he possibly can in the NFL. Don't know if anyone saw it or not but the 30 for 30 they did on the Texas vs USC Rose Bowl game and how both Vince Young and Matt Leinhart were basically busts in the NFL and both said they didn't take it serious enough. Hopefully Jameis doesn't go downthe same path as those two did or Johnny Mazeil etc. I still put the very first game as a starter he played last year in FSU's first game of the season was the best QB performance I've ever seen in a college game.
January 9, 201511 yr I don't see him being successful in the NFL. It is a completely different game, and he doesn't have the tools to be a NFL quarterback. Footwork not good, arm strenght average, hard time reading defenses. Yes someone will burn a first round pick trying to save their job, and the franchise trying to sell season tickets, but he will be a journeyman at best. He will get thrown in too so to try and turn a team around and will be gone from that team within two years. As far as going back to FSU, with everything he had going on off the field, his stock would only decrease if he stayed another year.

You must be living up to your name with this post because that is hilarious.
