New Year New You (Fitness/Health 2015)

Featured Replies

So workout #2 for the open was release on Thursday. Was a repeat from last year.

You have 3:00 to do 2rds of:

10 Overhead Squats

10 Chest to Bar Pullups

if you make it in the 3 mins you get 3 mins more to 2 more rounds but you add 2reps to each movement. This continues until you can't complete the 2 rounds in the allotted 3:00.

Overhead ad squats are my biggest struggle due to flexibility issues...shoulders, ankles, hips.

Last year i made it 8 reps on the OHS in the round of 12. So my score was 48 total reps. This year I was able to get 2 more reps for a score of 50. Still terrible but an improvement.

Worked out hard last week but had no strength at all.

Started doing the elliptical again and then ride the stationary bike.

20 min on one and then 30 minutes on the other.

Will increase time so they both are equal.

Going to dump the spin bike tonight and go run with the group. Too nice outside not to.

19000+ steps yesterday......12000+ today........officially down 38 and 6 inches off the waist......ready to buy a smaller belt to replace the one I had to buy 2 months ago.......

So that is what my shoes look like. ?

Good workout today even though I had to cut it 30 minutes shorts, to meet a plumber who has yet to show.

60 minutes weights

30 minutes elliptical (Incline 10 resistance level 7)

That "I get high from exercise" is kicking in.....and so is the "I feel ridiculously guilty if I don't exercise." I've turned a corner, down 33lbs from my all-time high.

Ran a little over a mile and did normal workout last night. Felt good to run outside.

78 minutes weights, 30 minutes on the elliptical (10 incline 8 resistance and then 30 minutes on the stationary bike.

In Chicago.....yesterday walked over 10 miles......but some of the segments were from one bar to the other.....

Does that count?

Actually, it does. Better than cabbing it from place to place. Anytime you can get the blood flowing is a positive.

So the 3rd workout of the CrossFit Games Open was released last night. Woodsrider is not happy.

[h=3]Workout 15.3[/h]

14-minute AMRAP:

7 muscle-ups

50 wall balls

100 double-unders

M 20-lb. ball to 10’ target

F 14-lb. ball to 9’ target

The muscle-ups are ring MUs, can't do bar. This workout is a variation of a past one from 2012 that was repeated in 2013. In that one you did 150 wall balls, 90 double unders, 30 MUs. AMRAP for 12 mins I believe it was. So even if you couldn't do a MU you could do the rest of it and still post a score. There's no hiding from the MU's this time. I use to be able to do them pretty good, at least good enough. I can do plenty of bar muscle ups. Rings are a different world, not sure if I still have 7 in me. Guess I will find out tonight.

I got into a wonderful rut after a week in Key West attending a wedding. I went from 218 right before the trip to 230 about 3 weeks ago.

Currently using Intermittent Fasting to lock in my eating schedule at 8 hours for the day and getting all of my calories in during that time (alcohol included). Down to 224 in 3 weeks of it, but my strength has actually increased so muscle mass is staying the same, which is good. Plus, it is soooo much easier to eat from noon-8pm. Less meals to worry about.

Well, got 6 Muscle Ups and a ton of misses. Had 6 with about 6 minutes left and just couldn't get the last one. Going to try again on Sunday.

Minor setback at the SEC tourney in Nashville this past weekend but really hit it hard last week as far as strength training. Starting to see gains in this 43 yr old body. Was down 12 since Jan 5 last Thursday. But probably gained a few back in Nashville. Lol
