I want to FINISH a 5K this spring....did not say run, just finish. I would like to lose 10- 12% of my weight in this first 16 week session and hold a 1-minute plank. Definitely building muscle and the lbs seem to almost be falling off. Eating sooo much better, which has been an issue for hubby, the chef/baker extraordinaire, but he's coming around. I picture my weight loss in terms of bowling balls. Throw 17 lbs down the alley...that's more than I can heave so I feel accomplished already! Stupid maybe but it's working for me.

I love the comparison to 17 lb bowling ball. During my weight loss/eating better journey my husband suggested I go into a store, every few weeks, and lift a weight equal to the weight I had lost. This really made an impression on me and made it real. It was a great motivator that helped me lose over 50 pounds.

CrossFit Games Open workout 15.1 was released last night. It actually ended up being 2 workouts that will count as two scores, this was a first.

15.1

9 min AMRAP

15 Toes to Bar

10 Deadlifts (115lb / 75 lb)

5 Snatches (115lb / 75lb)

15.1A

Starting at the 9:01 mark find your 1RM Clean & Jerk.

You have 6 mins.

So the clock runs for 15mins. The first 9 mins you do 15.1 and the remaining 6 you do 15.1A.

Toes to bar are a weakness for me so I'm not thrilled about it.

I've been relegated to the treadmill for the upcoming marathon I am training for. Ran 13 miles on it last Saturday. Broke it down in to 5-5-3 mile segments so it was not too bad. My biggest issue of late running on the treadmill is that my legs just die on me. My cardio is fine, but I think it has to do with not being able to stride out fully. The reason I say this is yesterday I did a speed workout, so my paces were varying and I did 6 miles in 43 minutes (7:10 pace) no problem. If I just set it at 7.5 mph (8 mph) my legs start to die after 2 miles. It helps adding in some tempo speeds and hills.
I actually like the treadmill. :)

I don't deadlift and have no clue how to do a snatch but I can hammer out toes-to-bar.

It's definitely a movement that I need to work on. I use to be pretty good at them but don't do them as much as I should/use too and it shows in workouts. Add in on top of that the other movements and it should make for a crappy score.

What would be a good score?

Still early to tell but the top guys are getting 220+.

For me I think 4 rounds (120reps) would be awesome. My guess is I will get through 3 and somewhere in the 4th when time runs out. So some where in that 100rep score. The wildcard is having to do the C&J after. I would be happy if I could it at least 205lbs on that but just no idea how taxed I'm going to be after finishing the AMRAP.

Well, ended up with 122reps and hit 205lbs on the C&J. Went for 215 but just didn't have anything left.

Since January I've been back at things pretty hard. I'm now working out every day I work and at least one of my days off. Finally got a journal again to start tracking my progress. Hoping to get down to about 185-190 range. Most folks think I weigh about 20 lbs more than I do because of muscle mass so if I can get to that weight range about 10-12 lbs from where I am now I will be doing pretty darn good. It feels great to finally have my routine back working out before work. Have even been doing some 2 a days every now and again.

Saw a push-up challenge that I altered to my liking because I need more cardio than anything. Was supposed to pick a number of push-ups to do in a set say 5 or 10, do them then rest for 1 minute and repeat 10x's total. Well instead of resting in between sets I ran at 6.5 mph on the treadmill for 1 minute doing 10 push-ups after each 1 minute run. I will definitely up the push-up number as that was too easy but man did that get me gassed at the end. Essentially ended up running 1.5 miles while doing push-ups every minute.

Back from 7 days in playa del carmen with 7 other couples.......

Starting over ......my liver emailed me and said "no mas"

Down 11 lbs since Jan 3rd. The Myfitnesspal app really helps. I have logged in 52 straight days and plugged in everything that I've eaten as well as exercise/lifting. I also have been taking the Beverley Products UMP and MP protein shakes. The Cookies n Cream UMP is unreal mixed with ice and water. By June I hope to lose another 10 hopefully or atleast 5lbs. Target weight is 212 lbs and I'm at 221 lb today.

Turn the push-ups into burpees

I don't have any where close by I could puke or I would consider that.

First workout since coming back from Mexico .......only gained 5 in the week and from the smell of the sweat coming from me in the sauna, it was all alcohol weight......still puts me down 30+ since January

Notified today that I won $21 in the February weight loss challenge at BootCamp. Nothing like getting paid to lose weight and feel great! Signing up for the March challenge and moving out of my house. Hubz and I both have March birthdays and I know we'll wanna cook up something wonderful, but I'm on "this path" now and can't go back to "that path".
