December 2, 201411 yr I work on Dream Street and it was shut down most of the day. All businesses were on lock down, if you were in a restaurant you had to stay put. If they got rid of the hotels, the area would not be bad. A lot of drugs and prostitution. You can see the ladies walking up to the truck stop from the hotels almost every night. This is the same hotel that they found body parts in the dumpster a while back. There is also a homeless tent city in the woods behind the Super 8. We have asked the police to remove them, but they told us they always come back.
December 3, 201411 yr I cannot imagine having someone shoot at me. Was mugged when parking a couple streets over in OTR at night last summer. Stupid, I know, but the 2 guys got us and one pressed a gun against my head. Everything I thought about being tough and life in general changed. I can't imagine going into situations like that every day as an officer and my respect for them is through the roof. As others have said, I'm glad this officer is alright. Sounds like they messed with the wrong guy. It would be nice if they could just take down those motels.
December 3, 201411 yr Author My wife said the news was reporting live from there earlier and they panned the crowd of Riff Raff that was evacuated from the motel. She said they all looked downtrodden and like trash. Middle of the afternoon, obviously none have jobs.
December 3, 201411 yr Another reminder that police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect us. Prayers to this officer for a full recovery. So glad he is able to go home to his family tonight. Agreed.
December 3, 201411 yr Super 8 & Knights Inn need to be demolished, just like the old hotel at Fort Mitchell. The drug problems are not isolated to these areas, but as doubledeuce said, there is a very high concentration of addicts there. They're an eyesore and they're problematic for the community. Raze it and turn the space into something productive.

December 3, 201411 yr Yes, right between Motel 6 and the old Knights Inn, both of which are places you need to be real careful at. So who operates these motels? Are there any inspection procedures?
