This is my neighborhood. I want the trash out. The community needs to stand up and say NOT HERE!! It's just my personal opinion that motels were not built to be permanent housing. I would put a 1 month limit on stays. These folks are also sending their kids to public schools while bearing none of the tax burden. Getting on drugs is a choice.

Well, I guess I can talk a little about this incident now. I worked it yesterday in the dispatch center. I can say first and foremost thank god the officer who is a very good friend and neighbor of mine is alright. He was very VERY lucky and I can't stress that enough. His quick actions saved his life and his guardian angel was looking out for him yesterday. I will only say that he was faced with a kid with an uzi who opened up on him and then an AK-47. The officer's quick reaction saved his life and was able to shoot the suspect several times and the suspect staggered out of the room and down a floor before taking his own life, although the wounds he received would have probably killed him.

 

The motels on Dream street need to be closed for good. They are nothing but drug infested dealer havens. Nuisance ordinances were put into affect and the main reason the city did so is to have something they can go to court with when trying to shut down those businesses. The garbage that goes on at those hotels/motels are ridiculous.

They need to shut it down.

There was a place like this in Somerset, the city bought it and tore it down. I think it's going to be a park now.

Probably out into the county somewhere...a few have actually moved to other counties where they came from originally. Most of the "Residents" were not locals to begin with, many were from surrounding counties.

Some loser on Facebook posted on the WLWT page that this was a good 16 yr old kid who we shouldnt judge, etc etc...LOL I freakin went off on him. I said good 16 yr old kids are in school and not shooting at police with semi-automatic guns.

Not in a neighborhood per se, but I consider anything less than 7 miles from my house my neighborhood. If you lived in NKY, trust me, you would also want these drug havens torn down. These people are leaches and offer nothing to the betterment of our community. I grew up here and it's sad what has transpired over the last 10 years or so in NKY. These people need to go! While the demolition crew is at it, they can also go raze the motel near the mall and Quaker Steak & Lube. That place is filled with sex offenders and druggies as well.

Actually, you wouldn't believe the amount of people who are good who get addicted to this crap. Once a drug such as this has you, it's a sad struggle, where the good people are caught and can't seem to get out. As the NKY Strike Force mentions, now days you can't look at a person, or an area and say they don't do stuff like this.

 

I am also hearing that "crocodile" has been showing up in this area, the area I heard it the most is Grant Co.

I understand and know of good people who got hooked. However, this kid apparently was not a drug addict...according to the guy posting on FB. This leads me to believe he was dealing the stuff hence the reason he had an Uzi on him. It is all starting to make sense.

A 16 year old who tries to kill an officer and is dealing drugs is not a good kid. As soon as he picked up the weapon and tried to kill the officer, he was no longer a nice kid no matter what he's done in the past.

Not only that, but the three adults had 2 babies in that room too. Thank god they are alright and thank god they hopefully will never see their mom and dad again and get a fresh start in foster care.
