That is the same feeling Meade County had.....until.....

As trinity fans love to point out, trinity isn't SK. Well guess what, Dixie isn't Meade County.

Trinity Alum - I am asking a serious question and no ill will intended at all. Why was the 2004 team for Trinity not so good? I bought coffee that year at the concession stand and the worker said Trinity was down that year.

And what will your coaches do when they have 2 defensive linemen in your backfield on every play, WITHOUT BLITZING! Trust me, I was a Dixie skeptic not long ago!

Don't know. That's why I'm not the coach. Maybe run the wild rock away from the rushers. Maybe run quick slants. Maybe run quick screens. Maybe run all three. My point is that the coaches have seen it this year and will have a plan. The DH coaches will see what Trinity does on film, but won't have seen it live. They may come up with a game plan to stop Trinity, but I think it is easier if you have played against it before. DH has to be good or they wouldn't be here, but Trinity is hard to handle if you haven't seen it in action.

I just crunched some numbers and have arrived at a very scientific prediction:

(in my best Lou Holtz voice)

Common game grouping 1:

St X beat Ballard by +17 (17-0)

Dixie beat Ballard by +27 (48-21)... and it would probably have been 41 had Dixie not pulled starters!

St X went 1-1 against Trinity with a +8 differential (won 35-21 and lost 3-9)

These scores put Dixie at a +18 point differential over Trinity by examining 4 "common" games (would be +32 if Dixie didn't pull starters against Ballard)

Common game grouping 2:

Male beat Ballard by +37 (50-13)

Dixie beat Ballard by +27 (48-21)... and it would probably have been 41 had Dixie not pulled starters!

Trinity went 1-1 against Male with a +6 differential (lost 34-35 and won 38-31)

These scores put Dixie at a -10 point differential to Male (or a +4 if starters are not pulled vs Ballard)

Given Trinity's +6 against Male, they are a +16 over Dixie (or a +2 if Dixie did not pull starters) by examining 4 more "common" games

The 8 "common" games above give us these 3 scenarios:

1.) Dixie by 18

2.) Trinity by 16

3.) Trinity by 2 (if Dixie had not pulled starters)

Scenario 1 minus scenario 2 puts Dixie at +2 over Trinity... and scenario 3 has Trinity at a +2...

Therefore, the two "positive 2s" for each team cancel one another out...

giving us a true "PICK 'EM" Game!!

(sorry for all the spit)

And what makes you so sure that DH was not at Moeller when you came up here, or, another program that was and sharing information?

I will be rooting for Dixie big time but I think T takes this one.

Go Colonels!!!!

This.

The team that year never seemed to gel. I'm not the one that has been running them down. They were a good football team that never seemed to develop their own identity. After you have a really strong group ( I.e the Brohm team 01-03 or the Quick, Dawkins, Wright, White, Hatcher group) I think that the next class has a little trouble developing leaders. Just a theory. At any rate, this years team has developed strong leaders and has gotten better as the season progressed. I really like this team. It feels like a championship team and I've seen all 22.

Chemistry was a huge problem with that squad. They had talent, they just didn't have anyone on the field who was a leader.

Don't doubt that they have. Coach Jackson of Ballard commented about DH that it is one thing to see them and quite another to play them. That is kind of my point. I don't think that there is anything DH can do that Trinity hasn't seen done just as well or better by one of the teams they played this year. The weak DH schedule doesn't let them say the same thing. That doesn't mean DH can't win, but it does make it harder.

Dixie's offense is quite different than any other team's so I wouldn't be so sure that Trinity has seen what Dixie will be doing. Film can only prepare you so much and it's a two way street, not a one way street like all you Trinity fans would like us to believe.

Didn't Trinity play Colerain? If so, the premise of stopping Dixie is the same. It is definitely easier said than done because of Moore. He is the difference maker.

Dixie will need to prepare for the motions and shifts that Trinity uses. They have not seen anything like that.

I think Dixie can hang and if they can hang, they can win.

I graduated from Sk so I came back to watch them play DH...That game is about the only T game I missed this year so I can honestly say from seeing both team's play that if DH just tries running the ball they will Lose. T's front 7 will be able to control DH running game...

Just like we did in '04? .... Please

Just like we waxed Dixie in '02?? Please, what does '04 have to do w/ '14? You are reaching, that was an average Trinity team you barely beat, these current kids were like 6-8 years old, lol, you need something else to hang your hat on, good luck!!

The Ballard-St Xavier game was stopped at halftime due to HEAT.
