Got to give some props to the D line tonight... There was absolutely nothing between the tackles... Mills seemed to have a chip on his shoulder in the first half... For a kid that was suspect to even play, he stepped it up... Nice job to all the guys on the line...

The play by QB Reese tonight was unbelievable. How many 4th downs did he convert?

LC converted a bunch of 3rd and 4th down and long plays. Some good QB and receiver play to be sure but I wish HHS would have rushed more than 3 guys on these plays. It seemed like on all the big conversions, HHS only rushed 3. When HHS blitzed, it worked many more times than not.

Overall, a nice performance by the Birds. The offense has been so good of late, that they are just expected to score 40+ every week - and they did. The defense had a lot of big plays against a very good offense and completely stopped their running attack. I hope Jared Daugherty's ankle is OK. Even though he was limping on his kicks after he went down, he still drilled a couple of extra points and his second FG. The one he missed was from about 50 yards into a decent breeze and he had the leg but hit the right upright. He hammered it.

Holding Jones to 5 yards reminded me of saying about Alan Page - you have to run at him.

Lines came up big for the Birds, good job! Beau was Beau, going to miss him.

Yes we will, it's shame we only got to see him one year behind center, oh well it's just a testament to the QB factory Highlands has become.

Still curious why the Birds decided to squib kick it everytime, is the return guy for Lex Cath that lethal?

No problem, ended up not being able to travel up there (got sick) so watched on computer.

QB run by Highlands killed LexCath tonight, making it 3 out of 4 games where that was the biggest weapon the Birds have against the Knights. Makes it hard to defend everything else when you have to add other defenders for the QB.

Hoge is the best of the 4 QBs I have seen Highlands have over the past 4 seasons IMO.

Agree on Hoge. I have been saying this for 2 years now. Imagine if Beau would of had 3 years starting for the Birds....It would of been stupid!

Last week the 2 times Boyle kicked to him he returned one 50 yards and the other 100 yards for a TD. The one he got tonight he brought out to the 50. So yeah I guess.

If you don't blitz and he has time he will pick you apart.

Congratulations to the Birds and their coaching staff. You guys worked together, improved greatly and made it happen. Getting the most of what you have and who you are is what great teams are made of. Now, win state.

Heard a story earlier in the year where Coach Specht from Cincy St. X wanted Beau to transfer over after his 8th grade year at Highlands with the plan for Beau to play QB his Soph - Senior year for the Bombers. Beau said nah, I want to play and win with the guys I grew up with. I tip my cap to his decision!

Transfer TO Ohio??? That can't be, don't you know that all the good players transfer FROM Ohio to play in NoKY???

Great job tonight to the Birds. Played an outstanding game.

I think "Beau knows football"

BLITZ!!!

Makes a good story, but for that to happen, the Hoge family would have had to move to Ohio. Under OHSAA bylaws, a student whose parents do not live in Ohio is ineligible to play at an OHSAA school.
