Highlands 47 Lexington Catholic 26

Makes a good story, but for that to happen, the Hoge family would have had to move to Ohio. Under OHSAA bylaws, a student whose parents do not live in Ohio is ineligible to play at an OHSAA school.

Pretty sure they had the means to do that if that were the plan. Not trying to distract away from this game at all so maybe another thread could be started after the season.

Congratulations to Highlands on yet another impressive win. Best of luck next week from all of us at JC.

Congrats to the Birds. Their Linebackers are very disciplined and the D Line was pressuring Ryan all night.

Griffin Urlage ran the ball very well tonight on pretty much simple dive plays. He runs hard and has deceptive speed. Great job bu the O Line for getting better each and every game. The speed on both sides of the ball is pretty sick. I expect the Birds to bring back the rifle next weekend.

Great Job Birds Offensive Line and Coach Turner! There were a lot of unknowns to start the year with pretty much all new faces, to just see them getting better and better each week has been fun to watch.

Coach Turner may be the best o-line coach in the state. He takes a group of young Men works his magic as only he can do the magic Man.

Wait! What? Is this! It is! Ole alphabet soup is back baby!

Have to agree on Coach T!

That's an understatement! All I heard all off season and early on is that the Birds graduated all of their good offensive lineman and that unit will really struggle this year, heck I overheard 2 random guys talking about it at Lowes back in August. Props to those young men!

Wait! These aren't the two random guys that work on bathrooms is it. Because I heard some of the same things.

The line play always gets overlooked. The Highlands line dominated on both sides of the ball. I do think Lexcath is better off with this new coach.

Quote from the Cincy Enquirer.

Highlands tops LexCath to reach 4A state final

"It's great to be going back," said Highlands running back Griffin Urlage, who rushed for a career-high 182 yards on 16 carries with three touchdowns Friday. "Thank you, O-line. That's all I have to say about that."

Again congrats to Highlands.

Taking the LexCath running game out of the equation was big. Quick, swarming, well scouted - good job of coaching and execution

For LexCath turnovers and lack of adjustments were also problems. LexCath finally forced a punt but needed to force a couple more to blunt the Bluebird attack.

Good luck next week.

BTW, I got to the game about 15 minutes before kickoff and had to wait a whopping 4-5 minutes in line to get my ticket. That no pre-sale thing created quite the nightmare getting in!!

I had one person in front of me @ 5:40. I think it was the LexCath student section.

Congrats Birds. See ya next week!

Agree on Hoge. I have been saying this for 2 years now. Imagine if Beau would of had 3 years starting for the Birds....It would of been stupid!

Same is true for both McCoy and Houliston. 3 yrs. of starting for the Birds would have created huge statistics for any of the 3. But that's not how the system works. Wait your turn and make the most of it when you get there. Bring home the title next week and start a new streak.
