price499 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Could the Sixers beat Kentucky? NBA 2K15 gives us the long-awaited answer - SBNation.com
dolamite Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I saw that earlier, probably pretty accurate. I do think Kentucky could possibly win one of seven, but NBA game is much different than the college game. Also the Sixers typically play competitive games against the other NBA teams so that would mean Kentucky would consistently play competitive games against NBA teams and that's not the case. Fun topic, but lets just worry about beating all of the college teams.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Huge Kentucky fan that says it wouldn't even be close.
John Anthony Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Is the Sixer lineup really that much older? Given UK's length, I think they could win a game or two in a 7 game series.
bugatti Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Is the Sixer lineup really that much older? Given UK's length, I think they could win a game or two in a 7 game series. There is a huge difference in physical strength, stamina, and maturity between an 18-20 year old and a 21-24 year old. Not to mention the competition level on a nightly basis. I saw WCS get blocked by a 6'5" guy from Grand Canyon University. Vegas said they would give UK 17 points. I would give the points and not think twice.
JBCousins Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 With the NFL, this topic is always ridiculous. With the NBA, it is usually just as ridiculous. However, 2 factors make it at least plausible. 1. The 76ers are extremely young (and bad....really, really bad) 2. This UK team is huge. Even with those 2 factors, it's a long shot. They might get 1 out of 10. Vegas says it's a 16 point spread using NBA rules but only a 10 point line using college rules. A 10 point dog winning is still a big upset but not unheard of.
Getslow Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Guys, it's about the level of play in the NBA. These guys do nothing but play basketball all day. Forget the big men; you might as well top each and every one of UK's backcourt players with a pat of butter before the Sixers' guards eat them for lunch.
BIG BLACK JACK Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 YES! UK has 9-10 guys that are of NBA caliber right now. Combine that with the fact that many have played a season with one another. IMO it's much more likely in basketball than in any other sport.

I want everyone to go down the roster and let me know which UK player you would take, today, over a 76er, today. Do not think of these players in college.
FarBeyondDriven Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Ridiculous that anyone would even suggest this.

Then you throw in the big twin guards, along with Trey and Devin coming off the bench, id be happy to put money on UK to win 1/7 vs the Sixers. The Sixers are a D-league team and so is Kentucky.
