I didn't post an opinion. I posted plays that actually happened. Not sure what the issue is.

Ru, the better team clearly won. HHS had multiple turnovers, CCH had none and a couple of what I will call questionable pass interference calls kept TD drives alive late for CCH and kept them in the game. HHS outgained CCH by 150 yards or so I believe. Give CCH A TON of credit though. They kept coming and coming at the end and made every HHS fan and coach and player nervous at the end. Kudos to HHS for grinding out the last drive (eating up about 5-6 minutes of clock) to put the game away. I do wish HHS would have let more clock expire in between plays at the end when the clock was on their side. Also, CCH had to blow two TO's earlier in the second half that were costly in the end...although HHS would have probably scored again instead of taking a knee three times inside the CCH 10 with 1:30 to go.

 

The Hoge run was as good a HS run as I have ever seen...special.

Just watched that Hoge run on ESPN Sportscenter top 10. #1 play of the night, great run aided by some awful tackling.

CCH took their last TO when HHS had the ball on the 22. Birds ran one more play down to the 8 . They the took a knee. What's the debate here? Maybe Coach W didn't realize they were out of TOs? He took a knee so there's no thought that he was trying to run it up.

 

The debate is between Ram and himself and he lost . He closed his own thread because he was exposed! TBirds will love this one.

The Hoge run is #1 on the SC top ten. Nice job by the Ozone and the HHS film crew getting the footage to Bristol

I usually agree w almost everything you write but I thought that the score was a very good indicator of where these teams were tonight. That 95 yds TD pass was a special throw and catch. Hoge's run was special. Turnovers happen. Jeez, the 1st game CovCath had 5 or 6. Highlands was better and won, but it wasn't clearly like they were that much better.

 

I will say that the TD drive at the end of the 1st half was a thing of beauty. Also, those PI calls were legit. Kid was in early on the 4th and 7 throw.

I said the PI calls were questionable IMO, not bad. Actually I thought the second one was pretty bad but I admittedly did not have the best view. I just said I thought HHS was clearly the better team. I said after the first game that if they played again, it would be much closer. I was thinking about 2 TD's better. I just think CCH had to have a few weird things happen to keep it as close as it ended up. The long TD throw and catch was beautiful but the HHS guy had great coverage - just missed the ball. Terrific throw and catch though.

 

 

I am like most HHS fans I think...just glad HHS survived!!

How long was that field goal kick by Dougherty for the Birds? Proved to be the game winner and was able to hit it even without a visor.

28 yards. He drilled it. Down the middle and would have been good from very far out.

Game not near as close as the score. Birds were dominating the Colonels the whole game for the most part. HHS can not put the ball on the carpet and let teams stay in it. Beau Hoge had the best run I might have ever seen in a high school football game. He made all 11 Colonels miss and one Colonel twice. It was absolutely amazing!! I think HHS punted twice.

 

Give it a rest. I think CCH turned the ball over 29 times in the 1st game. They created opportunistic defensive plays tonight. Part of the game. Birds win and move on- simple as that.
