About the last timeout called, it still was a mistake. I really don't think it mattered, as highlands was moving the ball effectively. Even still, the timeout called right there effectively ended the game. Just pointing that out from the perspective of a fellow coach.

I'm surprised I didn't hear people go bananas about that timeout. If I'm remembering right, CCH called a timeout with 1:46 left in the game, with the clock stopped. That was their last timeout, so if my math is correct, the game was over right then.

 

There was confusion on the final CCH timeout because the officiating crew did not clearly signal that CCH called the T.O. therefore the press box thought it was an official timeout. They pretty much botched 2 other stoppages during the game, one favoring each team.

Best part of the game was the last 4:57. HHS decided to run inside zone over and over and over to 0:00. 355 yards rushing on the night for the Birds (Cincinnati.com).

I recall the announcer was dogging HHS fans for not making noise when HHS had the ball on the last drive prior to the snaps. I hope HHS fans have enough sense not to make noise when our offense is calling its cadence.

The announcers are students who could be classified as interns. They could greatly help themselves if they learned the official's signals and some football lingo as far as rules go. They will occasionally say the wrong penalty just happened and the crowd groans. Overall, they don't do a bad job.

Absolutely! I was impressed by the turn around from game 1. I find it hard to believe there are 7 better teams in NKY than CCH at the end of the season. If they can get their offensive confusion under control they beat most teams in NKY handily.

I thought the crowd would be slightly larger too. It was bigger than a few students and parents, though.

 

I think the first meeting kept some of the CCH fan base at home. It's unfortunate.
