IMO O coordinator did a poor job tonight until maybe the 4th quarter of taking advantage of what the Birds would give them. Trying to run it up the middle on the Birds isn't gonna work!

It did. Slow screens to the flat don't. You can't outflank Highlands. You have to go at them and hope it works. Much easier said than done.

Congrats to Highlands for holding on. I believe I was told there was no way CCH could but up 31 in this game. My prediction wasn't that far off.

From the looks of the post in the update thread, they were not. So CWB was updating based on what? covcathradio? Interesting?

Great effort by both teams and you have to give CovCath credit for not just mailing it in after the first quarter. On a side note Miami Columbus won 22-0 tonight and faces unbeaten Killian next week.

Ru, the better team clearly won. HHS had multiple turnovers, CCH had none and a couple of what I will call questionable pass interference calls kept TD drives alive late for CCH and kept them in the game. HHS outgained CCH by 150 yards or so I believe. Give CCH A TON of credit though. They kept coming and coming at the end and made every HHS fan and coach and player nervous at the end. Kudos to HHS for grinding out the last drive (eating up about 5-6 minutes of clock) to put the game away. I do wish HHS would have let more clock expire in between plays at the end when the clock was on their side. Also, CCH had to blow two TO's earlier in the second half that were costly in the end...although HHS would have probably scored again instead of taking a knee three times inside the CCH 10 with 1:30 to go.

 

The Hoge run was as good a HS run as I have ever seen...special.

CCH took their last TO when HHS had the ball on the 22. Birds ran one more play down to the 8 . They the took a knee. What's the debate here? Maybe Coach W didn't realize they were out of TOs? He took a knee so there's no thought that he was trying to run it up.
