When do you put your tree up?

I'll probably pull out the Christmas decorations sometime Thanksgiving weekend. I don't have much and my small apartment means an artificial tree that can fit on a coffee table... but I like it. Within a week after Thanksgiving, I'll definitely have the tree out.

The tree typically goes up the day after Thanksgiving. We have put it up on the night of Thanksgiving before.

As for decorations, I generally start putting the lights on the house the weekend after Halloween. However, this year I haven't had time yet. They do not get turned on until the day after Thanksgiving.

Well, in our apartment we only have room for a little fake tree...but back when I was in my house in NKY, I had a real tree every year. I usually put it up on whichever weekend worked out so it would be up for somewhere around two weeks before Christmas, and then I'd usually take it down about two weeks after. I put my fake tree up for somewhere around the same timeframe nowadays.

However, last year was our first year on the farm, and we had only moved in a couple of months before, so I didn't really have the motivation or the spirit to put up any outside decorations. Also, it is different than in the past, because we are now the only people who see the outside decorations because we are not near the road. So, the competitive juices aren't flowing anymore :lol2:. Also, the nest in now empty and only our youngest and his girlfriend were with us last Christmas while the others and their families were at their homes in another state. I am hoping sometime in the next week or so, I will muster up more spirit than I have now and properly decorate our house. But...if Halloween is any indication, I didn't even pull out our decorations other than changing the garden flag to a Halloween motif.

Always get mine up the week before Thanksgiving. Got this year's up yesterday. Today decorated the staircase. Tomorrow hopefully do some more. Usually have the outside done...when we have the last few pretty days. Didn't get that done this year. As for my husband..he always never helps me I do all the decorating. This year he has had to do most of the decorating......, bless his heart...he is no decorator...:lol2:
