He asked me last night what I thought of using a cedar tree this year. :ohbrother: Tell him to replace some of those ash trees you're losing with some canaan fir trees. They do well around here, and grow about a foot a year...which is about average for a "Christmas tree" type of evergreen.
November 19, 201411 yr We have a 12' tree that we bought 6 years ago. It's a monster, but Mrs C had to have it. Most of the decorations are the size of the little basketballs. It's 12' tall, 7 1/2' diameter at the base, and has 2500 lights. It is really cool once it is up and decorated.

Similar to mine, mine is 14' tall all the ornaments are red, silver, and/or white there are over 500 ornaments total, with no garland or icicles and a big star on top. Lots of work but looks awesome!
November 20, 201411 yr We had the same tree for many many year, the bulbs in it were no longer available. Last year when it came down I decided that was the last year for it and we tossed it out after it was taken down. I famously said, "We'll just get a new one next year"...well now it's next year and JEEZ O PETE those things are expensive!!! Just wanted a pre -lit 7 foot tall tree with a wide base (I hate skinny trees). Just say I had some sticker shock :lol2:

November 20, 201411 yr This is the last year for our 10 footer, and I fear that what you've got is where I'm headed this time next year. Ugh. Wait till after Christmas for the mark downs. Ours was originally $1099.00. We got it for $366.00.
November 21, 201411 yr Just found out Mrs. TAC will be putting up the tree in the basement today. Not sure when she plans on putting up tree # 2. Garage will be a werck for the next 60 days!
