October 15, 201411 yr I had a lawn and landscaping service back in the day, as well as playing a lot of competitive softball. During one tournament, legendary coach, Mark "Pomp" Pompilio started calling me "lawnboy" and the name stuck. 13 was my uniform number, so I decided to go with both, not thinking that anyone who played softball back in the day and are members of this site, would have ZERO problem figuring out who I am. To this day, if I run into someone that I played with or against they still call me lawnboy. Good ole' Pomp... never forgotten.

Kinda a similar story, Started a lawn and landscaping business in High school and everyone nicknamed me plantman, just kinda stuck.
October 15, 201411 yr Mine comes from something my old high school football coach, Dick Roddy, used to say in practice. If you were not giving 100% effort when blocking, like sometimes happens in practice especially when you are tired, he would call you out on it. Loudly, LOL. He would say (among other things I can't repeat on BGP) something along the lines of "if that is the best you can do, you might as well just go do the Watusi with that guy" :lol2: I always thought it was funny and when I joined BGP I was thinking back on the olden days when I played and it popped into my head.
October 15, 201411 yr I'm from Kentucky, I was living in Mexico when my brothers and I finally got kicked off of the site for sharing our screen name for our youngest brother's Jr. and Sr. seasons.
October 15, 201411 yr Some buddies used to call me Big V because...well, I'm a big guy and last name starts with V. As stated, I'm a guy and 23 was one of my softball numbers through the years. So, I just kind of put them all together...BigVMan23.
