I had a lawn and landscaping service back in the day, as well as playing a lot of competitive softball. During one tournament, legendary coach, Mark "Pomp" Pompilio started calling me "lawnboy" and the name stuck. 13 was my uniform number, so I decided to go with both, not thinking that anyone who played softball back in the day and are members of this site, would have ZERO problem figuring out who I am.

To this day, if I run into someone that I played with or against they still call me lawnboy.

Well, its my name. First two letters are first and middle names, the rest is my last name. Seemed easier than going incognito since I have nothing to hide.

After having been around for 5 years, I don't think I'd entirely mind going by my actual name...but oh well.

It's the nickname some friends called me. There was a basketball player for Memphis in the 80's, Phillip "Doom" Haynes, and knowing I was a U Mem alum and fan, a friend jokingly called me that since I have the same first name. It stuck and morphed to Doomer.

Always curious to hear the stories......

Tradition on this board used to dictate if you ask a question like this, you share your story first. So let's hear it.
