...and Blackman fans never fail to live up to what's expected of them.

Give McCallie credit they made the plays they had to to win. It is a hard one to lose.

Very proud of my Purples! The D played great! The O in the second half couldnt get it done. But Im still proud of their effort!

I wont forget this one; as one of those that could have been.

Hopefully we can heal up over the next few weeks and get ready to win the district and move on from there.

We are celebrating in St. Matthews, KY.

Get beat in final seconds. Top 2 receivers for Purples didn't play. No disrespect for our next two opponents but Purples will be able to coast in those 2 games, get some rest and heal some injuries. Bye week after that then the Dragons will be waiting. I think Purples will be more than ready.

Keep head up Purples. Hurts now but winning next 10 is our goal!

Congrats on your win tonight against the FL squad

I was indeed rooting against, but did not believe you all would lose......what a great and amazing run....shame it had to end the way it did, but it's almost fitting that it goes down to the last second.....kudos......tremendous program.

I followed this streak as it neared 50. I started thinking about the kids' mindset, even in light of Coach Kevin Wallace's admonition to not think about the streak but just about the next down. Then I imagined myself as a 17-year-old kid. Right, I can can put that out of my mind. Even if it wasn't a very good TN team you were playing without several key players, even if all the bounces go right during the game (and when does that happen?), even if you're playing weak teams (and that certainly wasn't the case) ... at some point in time, during a critical play, "the streak" creeps into my brain and I think of that instead of what I have to do. Or before I have to do it. Or in between one play and the next. I just can't imagine how hard this was on the entire staff as it approached. Hats off to the Purples for getting to 48. I couldn't have done it.

Hell of a run; nothing whatsoever to be ashamed of.

Thanx to all the folks and friends here who have been cheering us on or having a good reason to see it end before it got to 50. Class is as class does. That is what I expect from my protégés on the team...no exceptions! These last four teams have represented Alma Mater and our community in a manner that makes me very proud. We were banged up from the Owensboro game last week, but you "run what you brung" as the drag racers say. I will say this: they did an amazing job of containing their blazing speed with the exception of the blocked FG attempt.

McCallie EARNED that win. We made mistakes to be sure, but they made their share as well. And they did it the way we like it: in a first class manner. Their coach was very gracious and generous in his praise of our team from his game films according to our newspaper. They kept their speed and added size this year. Everybody here knows that we lost about a decade of talent in the last three years, and that's no exaggeration! It turned out to be an incredible game with the only score of the second half deciding the game. This was only our second Homecoming Night loss since 1985. It was also the end of our record 26 game win streak at the Hallowed Ground.

Nothing to do now but learn from mistakes, work hard, and start some more streaks and make more memories! Make no mistake, the guys DID NOT let me down tonight! And Kevin Wallace deserved the applause that Mrs PH and I started as the Purples came off the field!

Not too bad for a program that didn't know how to win for a long time!! We had a 26 game winless streak from 1956 to 1958...managed only two ties with Glasgow. Well, Trinity had a couple of oh-fers in their great history, but I'm certainly not going to rub it in their faces! They simply learned to win big much sooner than we did! I'm just glad that we are where we are now, and it feels great!

Okay, Barren County, you're first on the next list...! Sic 'em, Purple!!!:thumb:

Once a Purple, ALWAYS a Purple!!:thumb:

McCallie had several missed opportunities and struggled with penalties, getting flagged 16 times for 143 yards.

To give up around 230-240 yards in the second half, while only giving up 7 points, shows you how good BG's D really is. I wonder if other coaches have nightmares about the Purples D?

Congrats on your win tonight against the FL squad

Well I declare!! I am just SHOCKED to hear that a TN team was flagged so much!
