Very true. I do think they can add on to consecutive state championships streak and I am looking forward to following their progress as the season continues.

 

I'd have loved to have gotten the consecutive games streak but I am so sincere when I say all I want to do each year is beat Warren Central and win the state championship. Everything else is icing on the cake.

I keep forgetting about that. That would be awesome! Of course from what I'm hearing HHS is a shadow of it's former self so they will have to find a way to return to their former glory even to get there. Pretty sure if they do BG will be there waiting.

As Antwan pointed out, the rules are the same. What it seems like to me is that TN plays a more scrappy brand of football than what KY refs and fans are accustom to. It's common here in TN to see a little pushing and shoving as well as some jawing with no repercussion from the referees. When Blackman was in KY, The band couldnt even play like they do down here.

 

You forgot the fact that they can't do that in college games either! Besides, that is the rule here in KY! I can remember when Paducah Tilghman used their band at McRight Field to split up the visiting crowd in my day (1974-76) in order to demoralize them and minimize their positive effect on their team!

I'd sure like to see you tell St Xavier that they are a nobody...over 1500 students, all boys Catholic school. How many times have you seen two schools like St Xavier and Trinity ANNUALLY draw 33,000-38,000 to their games? Just before Trinity went national, they gave us our last loss at our stadium in 2010...by only 14-12! Highlands and Male are #2 and #3 NATIONALLY in all time wins (though they did not appear on our schedule). However, we did play teams that appeared on their schedules, and we beat them by comparable scores or better. BGHS is one of only two public schools to ever beat St Xavier at their new stadium (Male being the other, but we did it twice). And the last time I checked, we did beat Blackman. Their behavior was so atrocious that the BGPD had to station 75 officers (some in plain clothes) at the game. They couldn't even find their way to THEIR locker room and tried to go into ours! I am in a wheelchair, and I was warding off their players and pointing them in the right direction...and a Blackman assistant coach was classy enough to check on me and make sure that I was not harmed (not that I was worried about it...I'm a military veteran, I CAN take care of myself!) McCallie's head coach didn't cry about the officiating...he's first class all the way, and so are their players! I'm quite sure that Lexington Catholic would object to being called a nobody as well. So would John Hardin, who had four losses in the last three years...three of them to us in the west bracket of the playoffs. Our crosstown rival, Warren Central, had four losses in 2011 and 2012...ALL of them to us. You're entitled to your opinion, but the truth takes care of itself.

Tough loss for the Purples. But a tip of the cap to everyone involved with Bowling Green High School from 2011 - present who helped start and advance the streak to the second longest streak in the state. Coach Wallace and his staff have done a great job preparing the young men each week to be the best on and off the field. During this streak Bowling Green has proven to those across the state they are one of the states power teams, not just the top team in the South Central area of KY. Finally, whether or not one believes they beat a "bunch of nobodies" think about this, when was the last time your team won 48 straight games? Unless you're a Trinity fan the answer would be, your team has not.

McCallie coach was very complimentary of the Purples and their program. The officials not so much. Per Bowling Green Daily news. McCallie coach Ralph Potter said. " We had to battle back from a lot of adversity. I've never had a team get that many penalties I'll tell you that. Those are highly questionable. But our kids persevered and fought hard." All in all a very exciting game. Fully expected Bowling Green to run back the kick off with 24 seconds to preserve the steak. Mcyntire and Holt on defense are worth the price of admission. Seeing the 7th and 8th graders walking around the stadium in their jerseys makes me think the future is bright for BG. A bunch of young athletic kids milling about.
