September 18, 201411 yr This kid is just maddening for Jimbo, I imagine. I would believe that Jimbo had pretty much said to him, that I can't protect you from you. There will be consequences next time something inappropriate happens. I think a 1/2 game suspension is a joke. It should be a game, but I respect the coach who knows a lot more that is going on with him than any of us do. Like it or not, he is not a normal college kid. He is one of the faces of the university. Again, that may not be fair, but it is what it is. He may be costing himself millions.
September 18, 201411 yr They don't have to have enough evidence to get a conviction from a jury. They simply have to believe that something happened that violates their code of conduct. One of the other two guys involved was found guilty of violating the code of conduct for filming the incident. He got a year's probation. I hope they find something and kick him out of school. Straight up. At this point is there any doubt he raped that girl? His whole attitude screams "above the law".
September 18, 201411 yr Put me in the crowds of: 1) Thank goodness social media wasn't what it is now back when I was in college. 2) I can't believe this is even newsworthy C. 3) I've never been a Jameis fan. Love Manziel...love Cam Newton. But Famous Jameis...can't handle him.
September 18, 201411 yr Considering that this kid obviously doesn't know how to keep himself away from negative publicity, you would have to think that any NFL owner would think long and hard about drafting him. It doesn't appear that he is going to change, so how long into his pro career could he last before doing something stupid. Now that we are in the days of trial by twitter, you are really risking any investment that you make into a player with marginal character.

September 18, 201411 yr Extremely disappointed in the FSU Admin. that did absolutely nothing. They made the announcement / statement of the joke first half suspension. I guess they didn't want Jimbo to do it, take the heat and maybe blurt out some lame "he's a fine young man, model teammate, citizen and as the Seinfeild show said....yada, yada, yada. Winston is a spoiled brat / entitlement Thug. How many instances is it going to take for this little boy (by his actions) to actually have to pay for his antics. Lets see..."alleged" sexual assault, Thief - shoplifting and now public disturbance plus who the hell knows what all else that was caught early and swept under before it got out. That joke of a penalty I don't think will make a difference in the W/L outcome of their game with Clemson but I guess that I can hope. A perfect scenario for Sat. game vs. Clemson would be for FSU to have a pretty decent lead at half, then "Golden Child" comes in the 2nd half - Noles lose the lead - the game and chance for a playoff all in the half Winston played. I hope that we don't hear Fisher or anyone else with FSU talk about fairness, ethics or class. This latest has absolutely sown me that the FSU President, AD, Coach and all others in admin. are a joke. Absolute chicken :poop:.

September 18, 201411 yr Peter Warrick is filing an appeal on his 2 game suspension for getting Tommy Hilfiger clothes for a discount.
September 18, 201411 yr Peter Warrick is filing an appeal on his 2 game suspension for getting Tommy Hilfiger clothes for a discount. There is a blast from the past. Great punt returner for the Bengals !!!
September 18, 201411 yr According to Mike Freeman many NFL scouts have gathered a lot of intel on Jameis and he has reportedly already lost millions. If i'm an NFL owner, I would have to ask myself............do I really want this guy to be the face of my franchise? The answer would be a resounding........NO. I liked what Jacksonville's owner had to say when they took Bortles. He said we took a guy that we would not have to worry about when we go to sleep at night.

You just might be right on that PP. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and I know those types of situations can be very sticky...but this guys character and decision making abilities just seem more and more questionable.
September 18, 201411 yr You left out shooting at people with a BB gun his first year on campus. He did that too. How could I forget ? Another one of his fine qualities.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and I know those types of situations can be very sticky...but this guys character and decision making abilities just seem more and more questionable. You? Hell, I defended him to no end and nothing makes me more upset than defending someone and then being proved wrong(see Cordia). I can't take him seriously anymore and I am officially over him. I'm pretty much at the point that I don't want him at FSU anymore.
September 18, 201411 yr I typically go to Tomahawknation.com for my Seminole news, and I think this is a good take on the situation from that side of things: Perspectives on Florida State suspending Jameis Winston - Tomahawk Nation And this excerpt sums it up for me: "And this is what it boils down to: publicity and image. FSU effectively suspended Jameis Winston for doing something that again put he and the school in a situation to receive negative publicity. And it's publicity that comes at one of the worst possible times. Though there was no evidence to attempt to bring a charge against Winston, he and FSU are still subjects of an ongoing Title IX investigation centering around the incident and the subsequent handling by Florida State. Not to mention the swirl of media coverage that the NFL's domestic violence issues is receiving at the moment."
