The political correctness climate thermometer is red hot and the coaches and administrators are left with no choice but to suspend or fire. Just the way it is. Prank or not, what kid, especially after what he's been through, gets up on a table at the student union and yells this comment? Just not very smart imo. Very degrading to the female population.
September 17, 201411 yr Sometimes you don't suspend/punish necessarily because of the direct action that was taken, but more for the stupidity and ill thought process that lead to the action. If this kid with all that he has been through can't be any smarter than that...well he might have a tough row to hoe if he doesn't gain some wisdom, and soon.

They don't have to have enough evidence to get a conviction from a jury. They simply have to believe that something happened that violates their code of conduct. One of the other two guys involved was found guilty of violating the code of conduct for filming the incident. He got a year's probation.
September 18, 201411 yr Before the season started and we had the "Who Will It Be???" thread about who'd take Florida State, and I said I didn't think we'd heard the last of Jameis and his being a distraction. I reiterated that during the Title IX investigation that was opened, and I'm doing it again now for the suspension. I'll even go as far as to say that this STILL isn't the last we've heard of Winston. We're just 3 weeks into the season, so I think he's still good for a couple more.
