September 14, 201412 yr It's not reviewable, because it had nothing to do with the play, that would be like reviewing a false start. No it would be like reviewing if time expired.
September 14, 201412 yr Or Kentucky declines the penelty of five yards and then it would be loss of down that was fourth down. Loss of downs game over. :idunno: Again, not an official but... I don't that play can be declined since technically it never started if it's deemed a penalty. It's like a false start on the O - the D cannot decline it. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20071006095110AATgcnW According to this it can be declined. :idunno: I think UK needs to file an appeal for sure. Teams decline delay of game penalties from time to time, it usually happens when a team is trying to move back on 4th down to give their punter more room to punt the ball down to the goal line from their normal distance. The defense will refuse the penalty and they replay the down from the spot.
September 14, 201412 yr - missed call by the officials - Timmons drops a pass he should've caught - missed FG in OT - UK has an INT but it bounces off and goes to a UF receiver. Any one of those things could've changed the outcome. Tough, tough loss. On that play when the ball bounced off the corner to the wr, I was really impressed with the effort of the defense to continue to play to the whistle and not let the wr run to the end zone. Lots of effort all over the field for UK.

Yes, you decline it and they replay from the same spot. Delay if game kills the play just like false start. If they would have called it Florida still gets fourth down from 5 yards back. You're acting like if they would have called the penalty the game would end.
September 14, 201412 yr The game can't end on a penalty.... If they "declined" the penalty' date=' then you either play the down, or you get the result of the play...... This is basic rules here.[/quote'] A game can end on a penalty, just not on an accepted defensive penalty. Either way that had no bearing on this play. Even if they had called the delay of game, Florida would have had one more play since there is no game clock in OT. It was only the play clock that had expired.
September 14, 201412 yr UK also had 26 seconds to set there D and the safety still didn't wanna cover on the play.
September 14, 201412 yr The loss stings, and it seems to be that way for the rest of BBN, which shows me more people are starting to care about this program. Also, every single player that made plays today on offense was either a frosh or Soph. If they can continue to recruit and devolping that talent, who knows where this team can be in a few years.
September 14, 201412 yr UK also had 26 seconds to set there D and the safety still didn't wanna cover on the play. Depends on the coverage if it was the safety that was wrong. Maybe the coach already beenspoke about the play and who did what, if so I haven't heard yet.

September 14, 201412 yr Have you guys forgot this is UK football?, baby steps No I'll give them credit for tremendous improvement. But, moral victories are for folks who believe every kid should get a participation trophy, IMO
September 14, 201412 yr Which official's job is it? Back Judge has the responsibility for the play clock. They were a buzzer that is set to the play clock time, when it goes off they throw the flag. It is the umpires job to watch the snap (and watch for illegal snap infractions.)
September 14, 201412 yr Or Kentucky declines the penelty of five yards and then it would be loss of down that was fourth down. Loss of downs game over. :idunno: Pre snap infraction, defense can refuse penalty, just like they can on illegal motion, illegal substitution and the like. Most don't.
September 14, 201412 yr No I'll give them credit for tremendous improvement. But, moral victories are for folks who believe every kid should get a participation trophy, IMO I understand what you are saying but given where UK was two years ago this was a big step in the right direction
