September 14, 201412 yr Aren't all plays reviewed in college? No way they reviewed that play and made a decision in that amount of time. It's not reviewable, because it had nothing to do with the play, that would be like reviewing a false start.
September 14, 201412 yr That's one of the tougher losses to swallow in quite some time. How do coaches every go to sleep after a loss like this? I laid in bed for a long time thinking about this one.
September 14, 201412 yr 5 yard penalty. Replay the down. Or Kentucky declines the penelty of five yards and then it would be loss of down that was fourth down. Loss of downs game over. :idunno:

I don't that play can be declined since technically it never started if it's deemed a penalty. It's like a false start on the O - the D cannot decline it.

I've seen MANY a play where a false start was called on the offense and the defense would be better served by taking the results of the play. But the play never happened.
September 14, 201412 yr There is so much whining on this thread about the refereeing that I thought it was about high school soccer.
September 14, 201412 yr https://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20071006095110AATgcnW According to this it can be declined. :idunno: I think UK needs to file an appeal for sure.
September 14, 201412 yr Loved to at least see the fight down in the swamp, tbey were playing to win just couldn't seal it. Anytime Florida would punch them in the mouth the Cats would respond and I couldn't tell you the last time that has happened. Just to young and inexperienced to know how to win a game like that although they were going for it. As some have said the Tiller deflection and the Timmons drop (drops) were HUGE. Timmons is electric in the open field but his route running has been improving as well. Done an excellent job getting between the two defenders on the post to be in position to make a big play just didn't have the hands. He's got playmaking skills but it's going to take a while before he refines his skills as a true WR, spent so much time in the backfield in HS he doesn't have some of the finer things tuned in yet as a wide out (mainly hands). The delay of game or lack there of was big based on the situation, 4&12 is a lot tougher than 4&7 but like some of you had said Robinson shouldn't have been that open to begin with. The little pick play really confused the UK secondary it was like Lowery and the corner (can't remember who it was) just stopped to look at each other like who gets who? I like Lowery as a safety but as big of game as Robinson had why put him in that situation? Would have liked to have seen Stamps, McClain, or maybe even Kendall Randolph in that situation or even a double coverage with McClain/Randolph matched up, Lowery/Stamps over top.
September 14, 201412 yr Watch the NFL games today and pay attention to the play clock. It hits 0 several times before the ball is snapped.
September 14, 201412 yr - missed call by the officials - Timmons drops a pass he should've caught - missed FG in OT - UK has an INT but it bounces off and goes to a UF receiver. Any one of those things could've changed the outcome. Tough, tough loss.

The game can't end on a penalty.... If they "declined" the penalty, then you either play the down, or you get the result of the play...... This is basic rules here.
September 14, 201412 yr Watch the NFL games today and pay attention to the play clock. It hits 0 several times before the ball is snapped. And it is because the head official can not see the play clock and the snap at the same time.

September 14, 201412 yr There are no moral victories. UK should've won the game and will regret not doing so later in the season. The Cats should be 3-0. Have you guys forgot this is UK football?, baby steps
September 14, 201412 yr A win may have given KY a one time moment of glory. But now they can leverage experience and play rest of season with a chip on their shoulder and challenge every team. Congratulations not in order. But very good game by Cats in one of college football's toughest venues.
