September 14, 201412 yr I promise you if UK has a similar delay of game play this year, not one of you will think it should be a penalty.
September 14, 201412 yr Which official's job is it? Not sure. But SEC keeps clock 'on the field' to give them extra official. So they have extra help.
September 14, 201412 yr Timmons can't be the next Cobb if he can't catch passes consistently. His drop KILLED the Cats. Catches it and the Cats have a chance to kick the GW at the buzzer. BINGO!

September 14, 201412 yr I promise you if UK has a similar delay of game play this year, not one of you will think it should be a penalty. From the Parker household upstairs recliner, I called the delay of game on UK with 3:52 left before the ref did. And I did the same on the play that they didn't call it. I'll grant you, however, that I was a tad more animated on the Florida play. :lol2:
September 14, 201412 yr Just a tough loss, this U.K. team shocked me with the way tat they hung in with the Gators for the entire game and all ot's. I thought the lack of depth would show and UF would blow it out in the 2nd half. I can't say enough on how hard that U.K. played and with pride / desire. The Cats left it all out on the field and that kind of effort is what will eventually bring this program up as one t be reckoned with, not an automatic W for any opponent. I also believe that no doubt the right choice has been made at QB, Towles played with poise and much more experienced than his years. I am as impressed with the Cats defense as anything. I am not into or do I believe in "moral victory" so this was a heartbreaking loss. O.K.....Yes I will say it. This game should have ended with the play clock running out on UF's 4th down. I thought that the replay clearly showed that the ball had not been snapped when the clock hit 00. The Cats should have walked out winners right there. What's so hard to see / take is a loss on what no doubt should had been the last play, that's jmo. U.K. didn't make some of the plays they should have but they als made some when they had to. Just is tough to take when jmo a no call / clock running out cost them a W. Overall I hope that this team can take the positives, and there were many - work on correcting the mistakes and build on it. There's a real possibility to get that looooong overdue conference win over Vandy in two weeks. Edited September 14, 201412 yr by oldrambler
September 14, 201412 yr There can be nothing but optimism for the Cats at this point. A tough loss to be sure, but they played FL to overtime, and that has GOT to be viewed as positive! I may be the only one, but I do believe in moral victories. And even as a Cards fan, I can recognize the progress of the Cats program. A loss, yes. But a bad loss? No.
September 14, 201412 yr The only to truly call it at zero is if there's a buzzer on the official's wrist that prevents him from having to look up and then back at the play. It's the "loser's limp" to whine about it. No, that is what replay is for, no different than when the ref has to see the ball in the wr's hand and foot inbounds at the same time.
September 14, 201412 yr You're completely removing the human element out of the equation. An official can't be looking at the both the clock and the snap. Replay
September 14, 201412 yr I agree with Clyde and you, but I will reinterate you are not going to get that call if you are a visiting team in The Swamp in OT, you have to knock out the champion(figure of speech), your not going to get a micro second Aren't all plays reviewed in college? No way they reviewed that play and made a decision in that amount of time.
September 14, 201412 yr Guys, everyone is focusing on the wrong thing. To win in this league you have to stop the run. Florida mainly ran 1 play and UK's dline never figured it out. Squeeze down and cut the pulling guard. Make the back bounce parallel to the line of scrimmage. It didn't hurt them tonight bc Florida ' s QB is terrible but it will. Robinson is awesome.

Yes, that play with the pulling guard and TE folding was a killer.
September 14, 201412 yr There are no moral victories. UK should've won the game and will regret not doing so later in the season. The Cats should be 3-0.

This is what I have a problem with......while I agree, there is a flaw in how the rule is "policed", it didn't COST anyone the game......Florida still would've had an opportunity to run their play after the five yard penalty. Come on now....
