When I was at WKU the popular spot to take a date was The Parakeet -- is that still open? It was down on the square, or just off the square, to be more precise.
September 9, 201412 yr .... I always liked Furlong's when I was in Lexington, a little surprised it isn't mentioned. Is it still open? It's not open anymore, but it's been replaced by what I would consider a top 5 restaurant in Lexington. It's called Cole's. I've been there twice and it is absolutely awesome. Check it out. September 9, 201412 yr For those saying Pazzos is great...it's not. I could name 5 places I'd rather get pizza from in Lexington (2 of which are a stone's throw away from it). I can drink beer there, but the food is disgusting. I would imagine that 9 of the 10 people who make the decision to go to Pazzos on their own (I.e., not just meeting others there) are going either for the beer or because it's in a convenient location near campus.

I can drink beer there, but the food is disgusting. WARNING: DO NOT GET A GRINDER FROM THERE. Joe B's is okay but I'd eat that before Pazzos. Ramsey's is the best place to go for "local" stuff. Other great places - Suggins, House of Soul, Malone's, Local Taco, Alfalfa, Sahara, Saul Good, Drake's to name a few... Everyone is entitle to their opinion. Personally I think Old Chicago is terrible, but I know a lot of people who love it. Different strokes.

Mellow Mushroom, Puccinis, and Goodfellas both have better food than both of those places. All within 1 mile of Pazzos.

Goodfellas is the best tasting pizza in town by far IMO. I wish they had a better setup to eat in at. I love the setup at Old Chicago.

September 9, 201412 yr Two of my favorite Lexington restaurants are long gone. The Little Inn on Winchester just off of the circle, is one of my all-time favorites, and Rogers, out by the Red Mile had incredible Prime Rib and Butterscotch Pie. Paisano's is currently my favorite hole-in-the-wall Italian spot, off Nicholasville.
