September 8, 201412 yr I would not necessarily go eat there, bit we rarely go to Lexington without picking up barbecue at Red State Barbecue on Georgetown Road. The place is a hole in the wall located between a goat farm and the nasty Sunset Motel. The place isn't great, but the food is awesome! I prefer the brisket with their mustard based sauce. We sometimes order ahead and take some to tailgate at Keeneland. As you drive through, stop by and pick some up and take it home. Very good!
September 8, 201412 yr If you like Cajun food, Bourbon n' Toulouse on Euclid Avenue is very good and VERY reasonable. As previously mentioned, it's hard to beat Pazzo's for pizza and beer. The Mellow Mushroom on Upper Street also very good. Is Gumbo Ya-Ya still around? That was always my preference for Cajun in Lex.
September 8, 201412 yr Pazzo's > Old Chicago Carrabba's > Carino's Depending on what part of town you're in. Richmond Rd area - O Neill's and Shamrocks are both excellent local pub food. Tates Creek - Merrick Inn, Malone's, or Sal's are excellent finer dining restaurant's. Ramsay's and Suggin's are very good local pub/home cooking spots. The Cellar at Landsdowne country club is good. Nicholasville Rd- just about any chain you would want. I like Saul Good a lot. Very good Mexican place called La Hacienda over in that area too. Harrodsburg Rd - Malone's and Ramsay's both have another location there. Mexican restaurant called Rincon that is very good.

September 8, 201412 yr Not a fan of Joe Bolognas. Overrated IMO. I need to check out Pazzo's. Joe Bolognas seems to be a love it or hate it place based on what people report about it. Weird.

September 8, 201412 yr I'm not sure but don't recall seeing it last time we ate there. Gotcha. I think when I was there they might have closed the Tates Creek one but left the Virginia Avenue one open. If you've not tried it, it's definitely worth it.

September 9, 201412 yr Rafferty's. The Bluegrass Special Chicken Sandwich is awesome! And their baked beans are great, too.
