Places to eat in Lexington

Featured Replies

I don't like Old Chicago either. Mellow Mushroom, Puccinis, and Goodfellas both have better food than both of those places. All within 1 mile of Pazzos.

Village Host, on Old East Vine Street, is my favorite pizza in town.

I am also very partial to Joe Bologna's. It's been great for about 40 years.

Ramsey's is the best in Lex IMO (cajun catfish). I really like Suggins as well (fried walleye). Love Columbia (nighthawk), but if you want a GREAT meal, Merrick Inn is definitely the place to go (bourbon pork chop and whipped sweet potatoes). As far as something a little different, Gumbo Ya Ya is excellent (alligator) Also, Cheng's is probably one of the best Chinese joints I've been to (general's chicken and hot and sour soup).

The biggest downfall in moving back to Bowling Green is the fact that all the restaurants around here are absolutely terrible. Too many chains.

Where is the bolded located? I love Chinese food.

Two of my favorite Lexington restaurants are long gone. The Little Inn on Winchester just off of the circle, is one of my all-time favorites, and Rogers, out by the Red Mile had incredible Prime Rib and Butterscotch Pie.

Paisano's is currently my favorite hole-in-the-wall Italian spot, off Nicholasville.

I used to love Rogers. Forgot all about it.

When I was at WKU the popular spot to take a date was The Parakeet -- is that still open? It was down on the square, or just off the square, to be more precise.

Hasn't been open for quite awhile. Never had the chance to go there, I'd say it closed at least 10 years ago. I may be wrong on the time, but I know it's been awhile.

Furlong's moved to Tiverton Way. The food is good, but it's not the upscale place it used to be.

Cajun, Bbq - Furlongs - Lexington, Ky

Cool. Thanks.

The place that took it's spot on Richmond Rd. (Cole's) is much better than Furlong's.

Honestly, I thought the Parakeet Lounge closed down when I was still living in BG some 20 years ago.

Clays Mill Road, down by Reynolds Road intersection.

It may have. Wasn't old enough to remember, just heard stories.

Rafferty's.

The Bluegrass Special Chicken Sandwich is awesome!

And their baked beans are great, too.

I've ate a lot of those as I worked at a Rafferty's for about 3 years while I was in college. Have you ever tried it on toasted wheat berry bread instead of a bun? I think it is much better that way.

Cajun Catfish is delicious. I always get fried green tomatoes for a side.
