Featured Replies

Doesn't have to be chain it can be anywhere. Love the local restaurants when traveling.

Going there 2 times this month.

Old Chicago Pizza in Hamburg is a nice nice spot. 100+ beers and the pizza is awesome.

Good call on the Old Chicago ate there a couple weeks back very good.

Depends on what you want. My brother says the Gray Goose is good. On Jefferson St. Known for their pizza's but have much more. I have heard there are several good restaurants on Jefferson St, but I have not eaten at any of them. Charliles on Winchester Rd is known for their fish sandwiches. Small little take out restaurant, but good if you like fish. Would be good for lunch. If you want a really good place, my favorite is Merrick Inn. Go to the patio, no reservations needed and less pricey. Located off of Tates Creek. There are a lot of good places to eat in the Hamburg area too.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Joe Bologna's yet, because it seems to be the "hot spot" in Lexington. However, if you want the best pizza in Lexington, go two blocks to 385 S. Limestone, and hit up Pazzo's (Pazzo's Pizza Pub). Fantastic pizza, and 47 beers on tap.

We stumbled in to this place a few years ago, and will never go back to JB's. OUTSTANDING!

Not a fan of Joe Bolognas. Overrated IMO. I need to check out Pazzo's.

Pazzo's is much better than Joe's.

Last time in Lex, we stopped by Johnny Carino's and it was pretty good. My crew loves Italian food and they all liked it very much.

Never tried Pazzo's but I will put it on the list.

We also really like Malone's. Great steaks and one of the best dishes they serve is their chicken fingers.

If you order chocolate cake, make sure you only order one for the whole table. wow.

Ramsey's, AP Suggins, Saul Good, Guiseppe's (if you don't mind good Italian food and a connection to Pitino), if you like wings and don't mind to-go (i.e., tailgating) then Indi's has the best wings IMO. Decent range of prices and variety of foods in those restaurants too. Generally speaking, I'd say the cost of a dinner at each of those goes up the list in ascending order.

All of those are favorites of mine that aren't really chains and I try to hit up at least one or two of them on each trip back.

If you like Cajun food, Bourbon n' Toulouse on Euclid Avenue is very good and VERY reasonable.

As previously mentioned, it's hard to beat Pazzo's for pizza and beer.

The Mellow Mushroom on Upper Street also very good.
