September 4, 201412 yr Concealed carry permits soar across Kentucky | State | Kentucky.com "Information from the Kentucky State Police shows that there were 59,300 permits issued in 2013. The lowest number of permits issued in one year during the past decade was 7,791 in 2005. That number gradually rose to 27,462 in 2012, which then more than doubled in 2013". Wow...that's a BIG increase in a year.
September 4, 201412 yr The explosion really started prior to the Sandy Hook shootings in the fall of 2012, but exploded after that and into 2013. At one point there were so many applications being processed that it was taking 6 months or longer to get the license processed and back from the KSP.

September 4, 201412 yr I took the class about 2 years ago but I never sent my stuff off. Is it still good or will I need to take the class again? Provided I can find my paperwork.
September 4, 201412 yr I'm mad at myself for not taking the time to get mine yet. Apply for a course today. Actually there is a martial arts school in Florence who has a member who teaches CCDW classes. I was asked by my instructor over a year ago if I was interested in becoming a trainer. Looking back, I should have, I may have to look I to that again.

The state PD should still have it. I know they were looking to change it up a bit to where when you get a passing grade from the instructor, they would be able to give you the paper work right away, saving about 3-4 weeks wait time.
September 4, 201412 yr Good to know. Why I've never gotten mine, no idea...my wife is more adamant about getting hers than anything. Why people are bothered about others going about doing THIS the LEGAL way, I have no idea. Should be thankful.

If you have your certificate that came in the mail from the state it should still be good. Just take it and a passport type photo (can not be printed from your computer) to your sheriff's office and write a check. KSP getting them back to sheriff's office in around 90 days.
September 5, 201412 yr Just. Lovely. I'm guessing you don't support guns and people carrying them, or am I taking your comments wrong?
