Why do I keep getting this crap?

I am saying if I was king I would not schedule these games. Not worth the hassle.

We have established that in your opinion it is a hastle to travel more than 30 miles or so for a game. I'm just pointing out that apparently NCC's administration doesn't have the same opinion, or they wouldn't have scheduled the game in the first place.

Did you really need to point out the obvious? Do you think they would have scheduled the game had they shared my opinion? Come on.

Correct because it was their only option.

You tell us of a "one option" situation, then tell someone they pointed out the obvious. Gotcha.

October 3rd is the Breds open date

School - Open Dates

Fulton City - Sept. 12; Oct. 10

Fulton County - Sept. 19; Oct. 10

Harlan - Aug. 29; Sept. 5

Henry Clay - Aug. 22; Oct. 31

Jenkins - Sept. 5; Sept. 26

Johnson Central - Aug. 22; Oct. 3

Knox Central - Aug. 22; Oct. 10

North Oldham - Sept. 12; Oct. 3

Somerset - Oct. 3; Oct. 31

Would love to see the Breds play any of these three.

You are forgeting that teams with an open just can't add an extra game. They have to be a game short also.

I pointed it out because you keep going on and on about how traveling is a hassle and now that you hate week 0 games. We get it. Fortunately for the game of football, most people don't share your opinion.

There are several obvious reasons Ashland wanted to play this game. Money is number one, I am sure. This game was expected to be a sell out and would have meant somewhere in the neighborhood of $15k to $20k to the school(my guess completely). The reopening of the new stadium happens only once every 75 years or so, this it was very important to the community and a much anticipated event. Many, many people had come in from out of town for the event. The "significant" donor to which you may be referring is probably John Koskinen, the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service. Mr Koskinen, is an Ashland graduate and had made a special trip to Ashland from DC to be here for the weekend. It's very unfortunate for everyone that the game couldn't be played. I personally feel NCC should have made the trip back for Saturday. I can't imagine that having much of a negative effect on the play of 16-18 years. Seems like there was a lot of upside to attempt to play Saturday and no true downside.

NewCath got back after 11:00 Friday night and you want them to drive back down to Ashland on Saturday on the HOPES the field would be playable? You have to be kidding.

As was mentioned before. Ashland would have called Newport before they would have had to leave and let them know if the field was playable. After 11pm? The game was canceled by 6pm. Did they stop and play at McDonalds play land on the way home?

Why are we still talking about this??

Why did you click on the thread, and post?

When Ncc is 0-4, it will be easier to see why this game wasn't played.

The position you are in at the end of the season is what counts. Just another opportunity for you to take your shots at NewCath. You REALLY must have a problem with them.

Yea, those bad Ashland people made NCC schedule that home/away game. We will have to talk to those bad people and tell them to not do that anymore.

It was a two year contract so you won't have to worry about it next year.

To try to figure out why this is still going on. Dont be a jerk

Didn't miss the point, you said they "didn't have to travel", but they scheduled the game. That's my point.

And, to everyone else, the complaining is the complaining. Yea, it's two, or three, or four hours, what ever people want to complain about. But, it was scheduled by Ashland AND NCC. They knew where Ashland was, or at least I hope they knew where it was.

Now, there is talk about replacing this game with Johnson Central, the NCC folks better get a map out, because Johnson Central is a lot further then Ashland. A second trip to Ashland will look like a cake walk.

You are again missing the point that just because a team has an open date doesn't mean they can schedule an extra game.

I'm not saying they are going to play, I'm saying NCC fans have talked about wanting to replace the Ashland game with a Johnson Central game. So, my whole thought must be wrong because NCC and Johnson Central are not really going to play? Wow.

Yea, it was me that missed the point.
