It obviously would be below the index at 7:30pm. Im saying now that Ncc white flagged the game.

I'm sure that's just a couple phone calls or emails. Though, they could be told no.

Well Newport has to play tonight in Mason Co and was a little busy last night with delays. And would either team be willing to pay the rent and find officials, police, workers etc. even assuming that Newport has not scheduled the field and would give permission even though they (Newport) could not have anyone on hand to operate things since they are busy tonight? It isn't as simple as you would like to make it.

Newport doesn't staff the complex when Ncc plays. There's many times they play the same night with Ncc using the Newport field. There could be valid reasons, but it seems you're making a lot of excuses for Ncc. I'm with Ncc on not driving back to Ashland, but Ncc could definitely use the money of a home game.

Newport opens the stadium and has the keys to the lights etc. Ever hear of Wade? Well he retired. I'm not making excuses for anyone because it doesn't matter to me if the game gets played or not, it seems like you are always a little happy to pull the trigger on things and stir the pot. Carry on if it makes you feel better.

I would imagine that if Ashland got a share of the gate they would have paid other expenses, or at least split them, if they wanted the game played that bad. A lot of smaller schools that Ashland plays draw as much or more from playing at Ashland than they do for their own home games. So I doubt money and expenses are the issue.

There may have been per wee football games scheduled at the Newport Stadium today. Also, they were not trying to play it today they wanted to play it tomorrow. The only reason I'm bringing that up is everyone keeps going back and forth about playing it today in Newport which wasn't even an option.

Would it require some legwork for Ncc volunteers? Absolutely. Is it impossible? No. Ncc doesn't seem to want to make the effort to get the game played. Why is the question. I have my opinion as do Ashland fans.

Without hearing straight from Athletic Directors I doubt anyone will truely know what solutions were offered by either school. But it seems like if both schools wanted the game played, with the resources and options available to both schools, it could have happened.

Drove over to Putnam Stadium around 2pm today. There was no water on the field. The sidelines were still soaked where they had just laid new sod, but the field itself was in great shape. They probably couldn't have played at 4 without tearing up the field, but the field would have completely dried up by 7:30pm and they could have played tonight.

Which raises the question as to why it wasn't played. With the options available to both schools I believe it could have happened. I'm not knocking NCC at all, it would just be nice to know what options were talked about and why they could not come to an agreement. I imagine if both schools did everything possible to work out a solution we will see the series renewed, but if there was no effort on either of the teams part I would imagine the series is over. It would be a shame for that to happen due to mother nature acting up.

Looks like it would have playable to me, I figured it would. Putnam has always drained well and they added more drains. The issue was that the city's system backed up. I imagine once the city system was back to normal it drained pretty quick. I don't doubt that its still wet, but I imagine it would be playable by 7:30.
