Newport Central Catholic/Ashland - Postponed

I believe the Diocese of Covington would have to be contacted and would have to approve any Sunday game.

A memorable trip and not for football. Hopefully everyone made it back safely. It was difficult to see to drive at times.

If I am NewCath I say no. 10 hours on a bus in 2 days will deff take a toll on the players. I have done the bus trips with NewCath and form my experience those adults on the bus are having fun. GO BREDS!

They're 16/17 y.o. kids. Give me a break.

I guess I can be thankful this kidney stone didn't pass or I'd be on a 5 hour road trip bus ride that cost me $30' date=' for nothing.[/quote'] I'm assuming you meant 5 hours round trip?

Ashland fans talking smack on another site saying Ncc wouldn't agree to a reschedule. I can't blame Ncc for not wanting to travel back down there. I had enough of that drive and I wasn't on a bus. But Ashland claims they offered to come up here. If true, why wouldn't Ncc play at home?

I thought teams from that part of the state only played 7:30 Friday night games? They were willing to move the day/time due to weather related issues?

I'm only going by what I'm reading. They're saying Ncc afraid to play. No way if I'm Ncc do i make that drive 2 days in a row. Plus, that field will be a swamp all week.

I agree, that field was a mess last night. No way it's ready today. I can guarantee you no one from NCC is afraid to play Ashland.

I have to take Ncc's side on this one.

I am sitting in an Ashland barbershop and an Ashland player is here. Ashland did indeed make the offer to drive to NewCath today and play but NewCath declined. Seems like Bosshog's post was accurate.

Can a NewCath poster find out the reason for us?

If Ncc did turn down a home game, then the hypothesis that Ncc is afraid to play may have some merit.

Interesting if true...
