I do not know you would have to ask a admin from NewCath. I would think that the school keeps it since it was money made by the school.

So if NCC accepts Irontons invitation, which will be a large payday. Does the Bishop or NCC get to keep it?

NCC

I do not know you would have to ask a admin from NewCath. I would think that the school keeps it since it was money made by the school.

But I thought the Bishop controls the money? Have also read that certain schools are given more from the bishop than others?

It seems like no one knows what's going on, within their own school to say the least. But apparently the Diocese controls mostly everything, but there isn't a straight explaination as to what they control or how much control they have.

One poster said he didn't know.

Don't say "no one knows" because one guy said he didn't know.

It's not one person, questions have been asked for the past two days. The only straight answer or statement has came from the Ashland School system.

The only answers given prior were hypothetical or opinionated.

Do you know?

Do you know?

I already answered the question you asked.

You did, but the posts from other members are a bit contradictive to yours. Either you know what your talking about or some of the others don't.

I've been told that the Bishop controls all of the money between several schools. I've been told that some schools receive more than others, particularly those in Boone andp Kenton counties I believe. And now I'm told that if NCC plays Ironton, (which will be a big payday) NCC keeps the money, not the Bishop. It's confusing to say the least, which may be why some of it seems contradictive.

..and lots of fundraising and boosters.

St Henry doesn't get lights without a big check from a booster or two. CCH raised a lot of money in 2001 and 2002 to get the turf installed. Still raising a lot of money through bingo to fund all of the athletics at CCH.

Some schools in the diocese are subsidized by the diocese.

BINGO.

Huge fundraiser for St Henry, CCH, Holy Cross, etc. But takes A LOT of volunteers EACH WEEK, every week of the year.

They're not contradictory. It's just lacking context. The bishop does control some money - mainly for capital campaigns. I think that's what Mex alluded to/referred to earlier.

Sports and booster money raised by the school stays with the school.

So NCC would keep Ironton game money. However, if NCC wants to build a new field or a new school or an addition to the school it goes through the bishop. You will always have concerns about favoritism especially if you aren't on the receiving end of funds. Not sure how much truth there is to it. I've heard some schools say CCH is the favorite. Are they? No clue. I do know that CCH does have some of its money going back to the diocese to help subsidize other schools - as it should.

It is somewhat confusing - even to many of us in the diocese.

I bet CCH has some guys that have been doing bingo for 20 years.

Are there any churches that do not collect money from its members?

Thank you for explaining that. My girlfriend is Catholic, from NYC, spent some time in Cinci/NKY, but when I asked her if she could make sense of the prior posts about it, she couldn't.

Yes all churchs collect money. what they do and do not get spend on is my issue. So where is the ironton place. sounds like it might be a good trip
