July 29, 201412 yr As usual, the truth is probably somewhere between cnsnews and msnbc. mcpapa newscorp?
July 29, 201412 yr Good points, hitler made the trains run on time. No doubt. It's an historical and darn near psychological fact that people, in times of great woe and want, will turn to other people and groups they don't fully understand to get their immediate needs taken care of. Often times, it ends badly... as we see here.
July 29, 201412 yr ...humanitarian group. You can't make this up. Remember this "genius" was once the 2nd in line of succession to the presidency. LINK Did you read the link you posted? Did you ever hear the story about the boy who cried wolf?
July 29, 201412 yr Author Did you read the link you posted? Did you ever hear the story about the boy who cried wolf? With some of the lefty propaganda that's been posted here I would think that admonition would apply to many of that I'll as well. Have you called them out as well? July 29, 201412 yr Good points, hitler made the trains run on time. Thought that it was Mussolini that got credit for that in Italy, not Hitler in Germany.

It's an historical and darn near psychological fact that people, in times of great woe and want, will turn to other people and groups they don't fully understand to get their immediate needs taken care of. July 29, 201412 yr Thought that it was Mussolini that got credit for that in Italy, not Hitler in Germany. Punctuality comes and goes with the Italians. The Germans did not have that problem - before, during or after Hitler.

Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner Honestly, I don't think I have seen anyone on the right or the left misrepresent a comment like you did here. But to answer your question, if a liberal made a similar misstatement I absolutely would call them out.
July 29, 201412 yr I think you're right, wonder what hitler did to get the throngs behind him. I think mostly having the guts to speak out against the Treaty of Versailles and not to be afraid of going against numerous aspects of it boldly. I think most Germans deep down knew that Germany had the potential to be a great and powerful nation, it was just Hilter's talent for speaking, rhetoric, etc. to bring it out of them. A friend of mine's grandfather was in Austria-Hungary in the 30's and heard one of Hitler's earliest speeches live. He didn't know much about Hitler at that point but had heard of him and heard how his following was growing quickly. His comment was that he had never heard someone so charismatic and persuasive before in his life. He could understand how such a desperate nation could have been hood winked by Hitler.

August 1, 201412 yr I think you're right, wonder what hitler did to get the throngs behind him. Building the Autobahn and reinvigorating the economy helped him in that arena.
August 1, 201412 yr I think you're right, wonder what hitler did to get the throngs behind him. Killed some that weren't behind him, rest fell in line!
August 1, 201412 yr And Dick Cheney was once first in line. VERY scary stuff! And Republicans WANTED Sarah Palin to be first in line. HORRIFYING stuff! Sarah Palin potentially being one (old) heartbeat away from leader of the free world rattles one's brain.
