Good for him. Glad he did it and posted it online.

Very disturbing, shameful, sad, pathetic. Makes me want to puke. And this certainly takes me back to a thread we had several months ago where Deuce voiced his thoughts on where he expressed that he thought police were bullies or something along those lines. I can't remember exactly, but there were a couple that called him out on his post. This video just reinforces the awful racism that people still have today. There is not a single white person that can even pretend to know what blacks go through or experience just because they have darker skin than us.

Read the article on the thread about the Newark, NJ Police Department. The DOJ found that up to 75% of all of their traffic stops were unwarranted--most of them were made on persons of color.

74% non white demographic in Newark... makes sense that most traffic stops were made on persons of color. Not excusing unwarranted stops just pointing out that demographics would suggest that most traffic stops would be on persons of color.

The report said that persons of color were targeted for the unwarranted stops.

I wish the videos were longer so we could get a full scope of the clerk's activity.

Wasn't there a Smart Guy or Sister Sister episode that dealt with this? Come on people.

Let's throw this out there for debate.

Assume the store owner has had trouble with young black males stealing in the past. And for argument's sake let's say it's almost ALWAYS a young black male .

Now what?

Agreed. I've never had to WWB, and have no conception of what it would be like.

There's no way to defend the workers, IMO. Their actions were as obvious as the day is long. To Clyde's point, unless that specific young black male was the known thief, I can't see justifying their actions. In fact, if they don't know exactly who the thief is, assuming the gender, race, age, etc of the thief could quite possibly be hindering their observance of who actually IS the thief.

Interesting. So you wouldn't pay close attention to someone that fits the profile of the person who usually steals from you? You would just treat them like the little old lady who comes in daily?

When I worked at SBUX, the last store I worked at was in a relatively high crime area. We often had people come in and try to steal things. But we didn't follow them around the store. And we didn't make assumptions. It honestly never occurred to us. The person who stole the most from us was a woman who appeared to be Jane Smith soccer mom. Turns out every week she was stealing a pound of coffee on the way out of the store in the morning, then bringing it back later in the evening to be ground.

Let's throw this out there for debate.

Now what?

Invest in some security cameras.

In addition to what LRCW said, I would most definitely keep an eye on him.

Invest in some security cameras.

Are you going to be watching it live?
