I'm talking about the uneducated voters that just vote for candidates based on what they think they might get from them. That happens on both sides and with Independents as well.

I said it another thread that I think some sort of basic test should be administered to all potential voters because the amount of uneducated and uninformed voters in this country is shocking and thus shouldn't be making decisions that could potentially impact the country's direction.

Interesting, but in the last election, the more education you had, the more likely you were to vote for President Obama.

Besides our country's upstanding history with voting tests, I imagine such a thing would result in the political parties vying to control various state governments to affect what questions and answers would be used in order to eliminate as much of the opposition party as possible, not unlike gerrymandering or the ongoing attempts to make voting more difficult.
June 25, 201412 yr Not only are voters under-educated, they also tend to be mis-educated. People are being trained like dogs to believe that they are entitled to other people's money. No amount of education will convince most who have that mindset that they are wrong.

June 26, 201412 yr Awesome but true, unfortunately we know how the uneducated will vote. In the 2012 presidential election, Romney won 52-48 of those whose highest degree is 8th grade. Obama won the post-grad segment 62-38. So, no, I don't think many of you know how the uneducated will vote.
